Background / History
Harry spent his childhood with the Dursleys. The protective Love Magic left by his mother requires him to return to Aunt Petunia for one month each year; after Sirius Black intervened with the Dursleys, Harry was at least given his own room rather than living in the cupboard under the stairs 263 285.
He entered Hogwarts as the famous “Boy Who Lived,” though Matthew and Jerry initially question the public narrative that a baby alone defeated Voldemort 7 8. Harry quickly forms his core friendship with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and later becomes close to Ginny Weasley and his godfather, Sirius Black 20 285 289.
Appearance
Harry is identified by his lightning-shaped forehead scar and glasses. The scar causes pain when Voldemort or his influence is nearby 259 286.
- Lightning-shaped scar — reacts painfully to Voldemort-related threats 259
- Glasses — worn before the Fairy Fountain transformation 286
- Fairy Fountain changes — his hair grows longer, his voice becomes clearer and more feminine, and he temporarily takes on the appearance and traits of a Lady of the Lake 286 287
- Reversion — the visible changes fade gradually after leaving Avalon, with full recovery expected over several months 287
Personality
Harry is courageous and strongly protective of his friends. He faces Quirrell/Voldemort despite the danger, assists Ron and Hermione in saving Buckbeak, and readily confronts Draco Malfoy when Draco insults the Weasleys 106 257 290.
He can also act impulsively, particularly when he suspects danger around his friends. Matthew’s guidance teaches him that seeking capable help is wiser than attempting to handle an overwhelming threat alone, a lesson Harry takes seriously 158 260.
Abilities & Skills
Quidditch
Harry is an exceptionally talented Seeker with sharp dynamic vision.
- Catches his first Golden Snitch in a match against Slytherin, though Gryffindor still loses because his extended pursuit leaves the team undermanned 46
- Wins Gryffindor’s match against Ravenclaw through a risky Snitch catch after Cho Chang locates it first 174
- Uses a Firebolt for rapid travel through the Forbidden Forest 260
Spellcasting and Combat Adaptation
Harry develops practical combat instincts and learns to apply unfamiliar magic under pressure.
- Uses a Shapeshifting Technique to create vines that protect and rescue Cedric during the Eight-Team Tournament 317
- Works with Cedric to retrieve a tournament puzzle piece while avoiding Mahoutokoro’s interference 310
- Learns from Matthew’s example that a broad tactical repertoire is more valuable than relying on one specialty 158
Horcrux Resistance
A fragment of Voldemort’s power remains bound to Harry and is treated as a dangerous curse. Bathing in Avalon’s Fairy Fountain removes this threat, though the process causes his temporary physical transformation 263 285 287.
Equipment / Items
- Firebolt — Harry’s broomstick, used during dangerous trips through the Forbidden Forest 260
- Undetectable Extension Charm pouch/wallet — carries supplies, including his chessboard 258 260
- Time-Turner — used with Ron and Hermione to save Buckbeak from execution 257 258
- Invisibility Cloak — used during the Buckbeak rescue 257
Relationships
- Matthew Black — Senior, mentor, and protector. Matthew helps Harry confront Quirrell/Voldemort, treats his injury, advises his training, and later assists with the Horcrux bound to him 106 108 158 285.
- Ron Weasley — Closest friend and frequent companion; Ron is fiercely protective of Harry, including during Harry’s temporary transformation 20 289 302.
- Hermione Granger — Close friend and problem-solving partner. They work with Ron to save Buckbeak, and Hermione supports Harry through the Fairy Fountain aftermath 257 289.
- Ginny Weasley — Friend who grows especially close to Harry after the transformation, treating her as a sister and helping her adjust 289 290.
- Sirius Black — Harry’s godfather; his intervention improves Harry’s treatment at the Dursley home, and he regularly visits Harry during the summer 285 288.
- Albus Dumbledore — Headmaster and trusted protector who explains Harry’s inherited Love Magic and investigates Voldemort’s resurgence with him 260 263.
- Cedric Diggory — Hogwarts Champion teammate; they cooperate in the Eight-Team Tournament and support one another in dangerous trials 310 316.
- Severus Snape — Initially hostile teacher who later tutors Harry in Potions after Harry’s temporary transformation reminds him of Lily 305 338.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Philosopher's Stone Incident
Harry joins Ron, Hermione, Neville, and Matthew in preventing Quirrell/Voldemort from stealing the Philosopher’s Stone. He retrieves the Stone from the Mirror of Erised, while Matthew protects him during the confrontation and ultimately forces Voldemort’s retreat 106 110.
Buckbeak Rescue and Voldemort's Return
When Buckbeak faces execution, Harry, Ron, and Hermione use Hermione’s Time-Turner and the Invisibility Cloak to save him 257. Harry later leads Dumbledore to evidence in the Forbidden Forest that reveals Voldemort has been harvesting life energy to restore himself 260.
Fairy Fountain Transformation
Matthew brings Harry to Avalon to remove Voldemort’s curse. The Fairy Fountain succeeds, but temporarily transforms Harry into a girl with Lady of the Lake traits; Harry accepts the change as the necessary price of eliminating the greater danger 285 286 287.
Eight-Team Tournament
Harry becomes a Hogwarts Champion despite never entering herself in the Goblet of Fire. Matthew and Cedric recognize that someone likely intends to target Harry during the tournament, and the three compete together as the Hogwarts team 308 316.

Three years after Matthew’s graduation, Harry serves as an Auror under Tonks’s leadership 414.
