The underwater ruins formed a circular, ring-shaped structure, layer upon layer of nested rings.
Many small pyramid-shaped buildings stood among the structures. Every three pyramids formed a cluster, and pyramid-shaped buildings appeared to have been a common architectural style of that era.
These ruins had been built by ancient Wizards, from an era even earlier than that of Hogwarts' four founders, which Matthew had visited.
Matthew said, "One book mentioned that there are also intricate underground corridors here, but they've been buried by silt."
"Really? What a pity," Luna said.
The two swam toward the temple at the center of the rings.
Only crumbling walls remained of the central temple, but its lingering traces still revealed a hint of its former glory.
Matthew glanced at the distant palace and said, "There are also some records of this Sun Palace in the Muggle World. According to Muggle legends, the Magnetic Orite here can absorb sunlight and convert cosmic energy into an inexhaustible source of power."
The center of the Sun Palace was open to the sky. There was an altar-like platform here, upon which stood many massive stones covered in intricate patterns.
All of these massive stones were severely damaged, and the patterns on them had long since become blurred. Only faint traces remained.
Luna kicked her legs and slowly swam toward the Sun Palace.
She circled one of the massive stones and called out, "Matthew, are those Ancient Runes?"
Matthew had taught her the Meditation Method, so she had also begun learning Ancient Runes and recognized the patterns.
"Yes. I remember a book studying Ancient Runes mentioning this," Matthew said as he swam closer and examined the patterns on the stone.
"Sure enough, just like the book recorded, the runes on these massive stones have mostly worn away beyond recognition."
