"Tomorrow, the Yule Ball begins," Hermione said stiffly.
Yet neither of her companions gave her the response she wanted.
"Sigh."
Ron looked listless, as though he had lost interest in everything.
Just before Christmas, his best mate had changed back.
Ron was terribly disappointed.
He had been planning to invite Harry to dance at the Yule Ball.
Damn it, why couldn't it have lasted a few more days?
Where was he supposed to find a dance partner now?
"I invited Ginny," Harry said with a smile.
After Harry had turned into a girl, Ginny was no longer so shy around him, and the two had grown much closer.
Hermione curled her lip, thoroughly displeased.
Harry was one thing.
As Ginny's best friend, she naturally knew Ginny liked Harry.
But Ron was being so utterly tactless!
It was not as if she liked Ron.
But as his good friend, seeing that she had not been invited, shouldn't he at least have said something?
Yet he had simply ignored her.
That meant Ron had never cared about her at all!
Hermione closed her book, rose while clutching it to her chest, and left the common room.
"Huh? You're going back to the dormitory so soon?"
"I don't feel like reading anymore."
Ron and Harry looked at each other.
"Did we upset her?" Ron asked.
"Maybe?" Harry shrugged, watching Hermione's retreating figure as she hurried away, deep in thought.
Gryffindor girls' dormitory.
"Parvati, have you received an invitation for a Yule Ball partner?"
"I received several invitations. Sigh, it's hard to choose. They're all such excellent boys."
"Lavender, are you really planning to invite Ron tomorrow?"
"Yes, I'm going to invite him."
"I never expected you to like that type. Harry's Potions side effects are gone now. I really hope I get an
