"Mr. Matthew, have we met somewhere before?" Eileen blinked. "Why do you feel so familiar?"
"I believe this is our first meeting," Matthew said gently.
"Really?" Rather than feeling like a stranger to her, Matthew gave Eileen a strange sense of déjà vu, mixed with a feeling that something was off.
Matthew felt he was about to be exposed. There had been so many elves, and since they were relatives, they looked somewhat alike. He had not examined each of their faces closely and had overlooked Eileen among them.
Now that he had brought her to this office, she might start making connections.
Still, Matthew was not particularly concerned. He had already abandoned his identity as Alsha, so being discovered would not matter much.
Matthew had guessed correctly. Eileen was currently very puzzled about how he knew of this room.
Eileen surveyed the office. Little had changed. Thanks to her influence, the room had been sealed off after Alsha disappeared, and the new administrators sent by the Royal Capital did not work here.
This room had fallen out of use, so Eileen believed Matthew was very likely connected to Alsha.
She recalled how Matthew had changed his appearance earlier, then thought of all the changes in Alsha after her return to the Royal Capital. Suddenly, a realization flashed through her mind.
Could the Alsha who returned to the Royal Capital have been him in disguise? Eileen was stunned.
Before she could ask, however, Fili arrived.
"Eileen!" Fili hugged her delightedly. "Thank goodness you're all right!"
Fili and Eileen's mother were cousins, making her Eileen's younger aunt.
"They locked everyone up. I thought we were all going to die in those cages!" Eileen said sorrowfully.
"It's all right now. I've brought reinforcements. We'll rescue everyone." Fili patted Eileen's back, comforting her.
