Pierce thought it over and ultimately agreed.
After all, Helen Kyle was Land Kyle's most beloved daughter. She often accompanied Land Kyle to various events, a privilege none of his other children received.
"Miss, I can take you to choose a 'toy,' but you must promise not to kill him. If you get tired of him, please send him back. These bloodlines are priceless; every one of them is precious," Pierce said.
"I know. I wouldn't bear to kill them either. At the Land Manor auction just now, Count Ricardo Lawrence bought Her Highness Tessa for twelve million seven hundred thousand Magic Stones. Even if the others aren't as valuable as Her Highness Tessa, their bloodlines are still worth a fortune," Fili said calmly.
"Good. This way, then. I'll pick out a 'toy' you like right now." Pierce smiled faintly and took the lead out of the office.
If he had not been worried that the spreading mist would alert the others in the laboratory, Matthew would have used the Land of Mist Alchemy Item to take Pierce into the Interstitial World, deal with him there, and then assume his identity.
Unfortunately, the risk was too great. Using the Land of Mist Alchemy Item would cause the mist from the Interstitial World to spread over, making it easy to be discovered. That would likely make the rescue much more difficult.
Moreover, the Kyle Family was currently connected to both the Land of Mist and the Moon Candle Ring. They might also possess items that could enter the Interstitial World. If they had those black-and-red metal spheres too, then even if Matthew entered the Interstitial World from here, they could pursue him there as well.
Matthew and Fili followed behind Pierce all the way to where the prisoners were held.
