Background and Rarity

Spatial Rings were reportedly common during the Magic Empire, when spatial wizards could manufacture them easily. By Edward's era, the loss of the Spatial element's inheritance after the Great Cataclysm has made them expensive. The Empress explains that contemporary spatial specialists can reach only the Fourth Rank, sufficient to create small rings and maintain ancient teleportation arrays 507 534.

Even a medium ring is a major asset. Wilson treats his 30 m³ ring as a family heirloom, while Edward values the 60 m³ vampire ring at several times the price of his smaller one. Ordinary onlookers react with amazement when he stores his sidecar, since few have ever seen a Spatial Ring 3 18 35.

Sealing and Recovery

The Shadow Queen seals Edward's rings for twenty days before he leaves the Moon Goddess. This cuts him off from food, water, medicine, weapons, materials, and notes. Although he has deliberately duplicated essential supplies between two rings, both reserves become inaccessible 295 297.

Back home, Edward uses a precision machine tool to position carbon nanotube wire near a sealed ring. The wire conducts the sealing magic into an empty storage crystal without draining the ring's own array. He works from more than ten meters away as a precaution and confirms that access has been restored 324.

Salvaging Wangyang Island

With storage available again, Edward removes the ruins' control crystal and base, Magic Power Pool, absorption arrays, and Magic-Sealing Metal gate. Extracting the pool intact requires cutting away its surrounding rock before storing it 328.

Sacrifice at the Magic Emperor

During the struggle for the Magic Emperor space station, Edward's clash with a Space-Time Blade creates a dangerous spatial rift. Sophia explains that immediate repair requires filling space with space 541.

Edward sacrifices his 60 m³ vampire ring because its useful contents have backups in his other rings. The rift crushes the ring, and the surrounding space returns to normal.
