Besides acquiring wealth, today was also favorable for: bathing, killing, making sacrifices, and praying for blessings.

So Ning Zhe and Baizhi took turns showering in the Gas Station bathroom, then shot the affected employee tied up in the backyard. Finally, they lit several sticks of incense before the portrait of Guan Yu hanging in the owner's tea room.

After doing everything that was favorable for the day, Ning Zhe picked up the owner's homemade shotgun and went looking for spare ammunition.

He had only taken a few steps when he knocked over a wooden cabinet at a corner.

The heavy cabinet came crashing down right in front of Ning Zhe, yet somehow did not hurt him in the slightest. Instead, it smashed open a hidden compartment behind it, revealing an entire box of cardboard shotgun shells neatly stacked inside.

"See? I told you our luck would get better." Ning Zhe poured the shotgun shells out of the wooden box and placed them one by one into the inner pocket of his jacket, where they would be easy to reach at any time.

Baizhi sat on the coffee table, toweling off her wet hair after her shower. Stunned, she nodded.

By the time they had gone through the whole routine, it was three in the morning.

Ning Zhe carried the shotgun to a parking spot beside the landscaped strip. As expected, the Lady of the Lake that had been parked there was gone.

"Where's your car?" Baizhi asked softly.

"Probably got left behind in 2018." Ning
