Background / History

Feng Yushu was raised in Yongzhou in an affluent but demanding household. Her father was a history professor at Yongzhou University, while her mother was a graphic designer. Despite her privileged upbringing and natural beauty, she considered herself ordinary in academics, athletics, and artistic pursuits, leaving her under constant pressure from her accomplished parents. 398

She married businessman Bai Fugui and had a daughter, Baizhi. Their marriage was distant: they slept separately for years, while Feng Yushu remained troubled by the circumstances surrounding Baizhi's conception. Later revelations establish that Fenwu had altered both Feng Yushu's and Baizhi's memories, concealing crucial parts of their past. 37 400 410

Feng Yushu travelled to Ancient Tablet Town with Bai Fugui and Baizhi during a development-project visit. While delivering coffee to Bai Fugui's room at Bishuiwan Manor, she was drawn into He Family Village and separated from her family. 3 201

Feng Yushu is a well-maintained, mature woman of below-average height, standing under 1.7 meters. Her bearing, clothing, and jewelry reflect a life of wealth and careful upbringing. 3 419

Personality

Initially, Feng Yushu is timid, indecisive, and eager to seek protection from stronger people. After Ning Zhe accidentally kicks her during their first meeting, she immediately excuses him and attempts to gain his goodwill rather than confront him. 3 Her fear of the Weird World repeatedly overwhelms her, particularly when isolated or deprived of communication. 7 124

Despite this dependence, Feng Yushu is observant and gradually becomes more capable under pressure. She notices abnormalities in shadows, recognizes suspicious behavior, investigates leads independently, and becomes willing to enter dangerous locations alone. 43 111 434 Her survival in He Family Village and Bishuiwan Manor hardens her, though she continues to seek reassurance from Ning Zhe. 37 73

Her loyalty to Ning Zhe is complicated by a Thought Imprint he places upon her: “I must obey Ning Zhe in everything.” The imprint reinforces an obedience she had already developed through relying on him for survival. 74 100 She later expresses open affection for him and regards him as the person who gives her the strength to continue living. 428 503

He Family Village

Feng Yushu enters He Family Village alone after being separated from Bai Fugui and Baizhi. She joins Ning Zhe's uneasy alliance, follows his instructions through encounters with the Snake God and identity-stealing Ghost, and refuses to listen to Zhang Yangxu after he becomes a Ghost. 3 21 31

During the final stages of the incident, she is forced to blind and deafen herself to avoid the Ghost's manipulation. She survives after Ning Zhe resolves the Weird Event. 37

Bishuiwan Manor

Reunited with Ning Zhe at Bishuiwan Manor, Feng Yushu searches for Baizhi during the Te Rang outbreak. She helps establish the Ghost's relationship with light and darkness, then kills Te Rang and gains control of its rule. 40 41 51

Feng Yushu accompanies Ning Zhe through the Y-114 Station train event, helps prepare funeral offerings for trapped villagers, and investigates the Xiangzilan Hotel's disturbances.
