Background / History

Dai Mubai was a prince of the Star Luo Empire and the younger rival of Dai Weisi in the imperial succession struggle. Because Dai Weisi was older and could have killed him easily while both possessed Level Eight innate soul power, Dai Mubai fled to Heaven Dou to buy time to grow stronger. He initially intended to abandon the succession contest and left Zhu Zhuqing behind, effectively signaling his withdrawal from the struggle. 15

At Shrek Academy, Flender introduced him to Yu Xiaogang as a potential disciple. Yu Xiaogang warned him that the Star Luo royal family’s succession struggle was lethal, prompting Dai Mubai to seek strength and a renewed chance at the throne. He accepted Yu Xiaogang as his teacher and agreed to obey all of his arrangements, even those that endangered his life. 14 15

Dai Mubai later led Yu Xiaogang’s students in the three-year challenge against Lu Duzhou, Tang San, and Xiao Wu. He was defeated by Tang San and, under the terms of the wager, crawled beneath Tang San’s crotch alongside Ma Hongjun and Oscar. The humiliation deepened his determination to surpass Tang San and reclaim the Star Luo throne. 66 67
