Background

Liu Mumu was separated from her biological parents as a child after Wang Guixiang, Dong Zhenghao’s mother, sold her to human traffickers. She was raised with the love and care of her grandfather and Liu Xijing, known as Blind Liu, rather than by either parent. 3 87

Her grandfather was Lin Xian, regarded as the most powerful diviner of his generation. He passed the spirit-bearing Ancestor’s Plaque to Liu Mumu before his death. 111

Qi Buyan later reveals that Liu Mumu’s birth had been deliberately arranged by the Qi family. By bringing together Dong Zhenghao and Zhuo Jiayue under specific conditions, Qi Buyan sought to create a Divine Seer with extraordinary luck and an exceptionally inauspicious fate. 107

After returning to the Dong family, Liu Mumu remains emotionally detached from Dong Zhenghao and his household at first. Her accurate fortune-telling soon makes the family wary of her, particularly after Mr. Ning identifies her fate as the “Star of Solitude.” 12 13

Liu Mumu is notably calm under pressure. She responds to police interrogation, supernatural threats, and the revelation of her own engineered birth with composure rather than panic. 19 23 107

She is independent and distrustful of relying on others’ mercy. When Lü Yao attacks her for the Longevity Gu, Liu Mumu chooses to defend herself with inherited traps instead of surrendering control of the situation. 68 70
