Background / History

The Hehuan Sect is known throughout the cultivation world for dual cultivation, the Beguiler Technique, exceptional wealth, and a predominantly female disciple body. Its reputation leads many outsiders—particularly sword cultivators—to treat it with apprehension or distrust. 2 6 9

The sect has never produced a successful ascendant despite its long history. Its critics claim that dual cultivation is a shortcut rejected by the Heavenly Dao, while sect members such as Yun Luo argue that mutually beneficial dual cultivation follows the natural balance of yin and yang and is therefore righteous. 7 48

The sect’s aspiration to achieve ascension shaped its interest in Yun Luo, a Primal Saint Physique cultivator capable of learning its supreme secret technique, the Moon Sea Tide Sound Technique.
