History

Forbidden Land and the Heavenly Maiden

Ye Qingyun first appears among the competitors for a Dao Tree alongside Jiang Ping and Ji Wushuang. He argues that, having contributed a Dao Fruit, he deserves the largest share of the tree. Zhong Shenxiu interrupts before the group can divide it, warning that a divided Dao Tree would not survive. 303

When Zhong Shenxiu chooses to fight Jiang Ping alone, Ye Qingyun refuses to accept being treated as a burden and attacks her. He is immediately overwhelmed, his body shattered and sealed in a spatial pit by her Void Daoguang. 305 Though humiliated, he retains enough strength to resist the spatial confinement and eventually force his way partly out. 305

Alliance with Jiang Ping

After the Forbidden Land events, Ye Qingyun develops a friendship with Jiang Ping. He locates Jiang Ping through karmic resonance, invites him to the True Saint Sect, and offers to discuss the Karmic Wonderful Method. 315 He later uses his artifact to verify that Jiang Ping is not being tracked by a True Saint. 352

Ye Qingyun eventually reaches the Peak and plans to travel through the Brilliant Land to South Heaven Departmental Prefecture. His frustration over being ignored by the Wendaomeng contrasts with Ji Wushuang receiving an invitation immediately after his own breakthrough. 360 371
