Meng Chuan watched Teacher Luo's back as she left, still worried about the situation outside the city.
After thinking it over briefly, he hurriedly pulled out his phone and called his uncle.
The phone rang twice before his uncle's hearty voice came through:
"Hello, Chuan'er. What's up?"
Lately, Meng Chuan had often stayed at Luo Guanyun's home to practice martial arts, so Meng Yongzhi was used to it and didn't ask questions.
There was some noise in the background on his uncle's end. With time running short, Meng Chuan skipped the small talk and spoke as quickly as he could:
"Uncle, are you home? My master said things outside the city are looking bad around the Demon Nest, and it might affect the city. Make sure you lock the doors and windows tonight and stay home. Don't go anywhere."
There was a moment of silence on the other end. Then Meng Yongzhi said with some reluctance:
"Chuan'er, I'm out on a mission right now. I'm afraid I can't come home."
"The city's surveillance just picked up the Human Demon's location. We're going to close the net tonight and eliminate that menace."
"When the sky falls, the tall ones take the brunt of it. There's no point in my worrying about what's happening outside the city. I'll let your aunt know to stay home."
A Police Station mission wasn't something he could refuse. Meng Chuan furrowed his brows, worried for his uncle's safety.
"All right. The Human Demon is dangerous, Uncle, so please be careful."
His uncle chuckled on the other end, his voice full of confidence:
"Don't worry, Chuan'er. My strength is limited. The search is being handled by team leaders who are at least intermediate Martial Practitioners. I'm just setting up a perimeter with my colleagues on the outskirts.
