The four Formal Knights had been killed silently through a single wooden door.
Then the servants of the Boar Knight Order downstairs were probably doomed as well.
In any case, the sounds of fighting that should have been coming from downstairs had stopped.
The Old Witch's eyes immediately lit up. Dragon Flame was an exceedingly rare treasure.
It could be used to make potions, forge weapons, craft staffs, or research new magic. It was incredibly useful, yet normally impossible to buy.
She immediately used her magical item hand to take a small glass bottle and a pair of tweezers from the carriage. Then, using the magical item hand, she gently scraped some Dragon Flame from the three corpses.
The instant the tweezers touched a tiny flicker of Dragon Flame, the part that made contact turned charred black.
A small flame of Dragon Flame fell into the glass bottle.
Cracking sounds came from the entire bottle. Crescent-shaped spell patterns emerged across the surface of the previously empty glass bottle, and it showed signs of shattering.
Three seconds later, the breaks in the spell patterns healed themselves, and the patterns then disappeared.
The glass bottle's surface turned transparent again.
The Old Witch immediately used her magical item hand to put a cap on it.
"Whew, it can barely be sealed at last." The Old Witch's head sighed. "Legend says Dragon Flame has a magic-breaking effect, which makes it terrifying. I didn't expect it to be true."
"These sealing items infused with Black Magic can't even contain Dragon Flame."
"It seems one bottle can only hold one tiny flame of Dragon Flame."
"Ah, the tweezers are useless now too."
The tips of the tweezers that had been used to scrape Dragon Flame from the corpses had also blackened and melted away.
"It seems I'll have to slowly collect the Dragon Flame from the corpses."
The Old Witch was about to continue when she suddenly sensed a terrifying energy coming from behind her.
She turned to look at the room on the Fourth Floor and saw Yveta clutching his chest and leaning against the wall, his body shifting between Dragonification and reverting back.
"Your Grace? Your Grace, what's wrong?" The Old Witch never missed a chance to show her loyalty.
Yveta opened his eyes and glanced at the witch. "I don't know why, but a force keeps surging out of my heart. More and more of it..."
The Old Witch lowered her head to look at Yveta's Tree of Life Spiritual Energy on the wooden floor.
"Your Grace, your Tree of Life Spiritual Energy is upside down."
"How strange. This is the first time I've ever seen an upside-down Tree of Life Spiritual Energy. I don't know what it means."
"But this situation should have nothing to do with it being upside down."
The Old Witch noticed that two branches of Yveta's Tree of Life Spiritual Energy had grown by half a pinky joint. "They've grown a little..."
"I understand."
The Old Witch's eyes brightened. "Your Grace, part of your power is too strong, causing you to lose the balance of power."
"Could you tell me the divine domains of the God names carved on the Fifth Branch and Fourth Branch?"
Yveta had no intention of hiding it, since it concerned his body. "They are the Rain Dragon God and the Sun God."
"Then that explains it." Amid her delight, the Old Witch was deeply wary. Just what kind of being was this demon god?
The Rain Dragon God and the Sun God—were those domains that ordinary gods could meddle with?
However, the Old Witch merely took Yveta to mean that he was connected to the Rain Dragon God and the Sun God.
Many evil gods and demon gods would meddle in certain domains in order to usurp divine authority, then condense some false divine domains.
After all, if a single god had completely obtained those two divine domains, that would have been rather terrifying.
Then Yveta would have had no need to descend into the world in a mortal body and interfere with mortal affairs.
The Old Witch said, "The Arthas Royal Family has dragon blood in its veins, and it is Fire Dragon bloodline."
"Legend says the third king of Arthas fell in love with a dragon, which is why their bodies carry Fire Dragon bloodline."
"It is precisely this bloodline that disrupted the balance of your power."
The Old Witch explained, "During the Magic Awakening Ritual, your Fire Dragon bloodline was activated. This caused the branches representing your power of the sun and the Rain Dragon God to become excessively stronger than the other branches, throwing your power out of balance."
"That is why your true body is constantly sending over leaking Rain Dragon Divine Power and the Sun God's power."
"Fortunately, it isn't much. Otherwise, your mortal body would certainly have permanently mutated into a magical creature."
"But if this continues for too long, you may become like you were just now again."
At the thought of the dragon she had just seen, the Old Witch's heart trembled.
Yveta glanced at the Old Witch.
Her theory was based on him truly being a demon god.
But he wasn't.
Then who was continuously sending divine power to him?
There shouldn't even be a Quetzalcoatl or Sun God Ra in this world.
Yveta realized that because he had carved the names of six god-kings during the Magic Awakening Ritual, he now seemed to have formed countless connections with them.
Yveta asked, "How do I solve this? Do you have a way?"
The Old Witch thought for a moment. "Yes. Actually, the solution is very simple. Since the bloodline of your mortal body is the problem and has disrupted the original balance..."
"Then you only need to remove the bloodline."
"Or add other attributes to your mortal body in roughly the same measure."
"What divine domains do your other four God names primarily govern?"
The Old Witch asked with no small amount of probing in her tone.
Yveta said directly, "The First Branch governs the sky, the Second Branch governs lightning, the Third Branch primarily governs war, and the Sixth Branch primarily governs destruction."
For a moment, no one spoke in the room.
Yveta was still anxious about his condition, so he broke the dead silence. "What's wrong? You don't have a way?"
The Old Witch pursed her lips and gave Yveta a deep look. "Your Grace, I have a way."
Fine.
What the hell are these freakish divine domains?
Don't normal gods govern things like some mountain, some river, some loom, or love and such?
Shouldn't a normal god's multiple divine domains be like the Goddess of March, with three kinds of moons or something?
Or three different rivers?
Any one of your six divine domains, taken separately, would belong to a powerful god.
The Old Witch comforted herself. These divine domains had probably been fabricated by the demon god, domains he sought to invade and usurp. They were likely not complete divine domains.
Otherwise, there was simply no explaining why such a powerful god still needed to use crooked methods to descend into the Magic Black Forest through a mortal body.
Wouldn't it be more comfortable to just come in directly?
And she was only a humble Great Witch. Normally, she merely did bad things in various territories. There was no way she could have used magic to summon an existence capable of destroying the world, right?
The Old Witch rummaged through the Treasure Chest in the illusory carriage and found four accessories. "Your Grace, these are all magical items. Wearing them will improve your abilities in certain domains."
"This way, they can offset the Fire Dragon bloodline within you."
"The Marso'go Ring of Desire."
"The Gryare Eye Ring."
"Jordan's Triple Crown Bracelet."
"Weimar's Iron Sword Necklace."
The Old Witch's eyes brimmed with tears, but she did not hand them over right away. After all, loyalty was fake, while treasure truly belonged to her.
She said pitifully, "Your Grace, you'll return these to me, right?"
"Or put them on credit?"
"After all, I saw that you were willing to put the Black Wolf on credit. You didn't simply take it away."
Yveta sneered inwardly. So you know it's on credit.
Those four treasures looked extremely expensive. He did not want to owe money for nothing.
Yveta said, "Earlier, I saw you take Dragon Flame."
"Two flames of Dragon Flame for one treasure."
"What do you say?"
Dragon Flame was free anyway.
"Fine..." The Old Witch calculated that there were clearly more than a dozen flames of Dragon Flame. This meant that she actually owed Yveta quite a lot of money instead!
