Background

Zhao Xuanzhen was an orphan in his previous life. An old fortune-teller and Sect Master of the Two Forms Sect recognized the Yin and Yang Dual Qi within him, taught him the sect’s Daoism, and predicted that his frail body would not survive past twenty. After retaining his memories through transmigration, Zhao began a second life on the Douluo Continent. 1

His parents, Zhao Liuyun and Ye Ling, died during the largest Abyss-related riot at the Blood God Legion’s stronghold in a century. Leng Yaozhu adopted the infant Zhao Xuanzhen, accepted him as her sole disciple, and intended for him to one day lead the Leng family. 2 181

Raised in the Spirit Transmission Tower, Zhao lived alone on its ninety-ninth floor, practiced Taiji daily, and studied soul tools before awakening his martial soul. His awakening revealed the True Self: an enlarged humanoid image of himself standing over a rotating Taiji diagram. 1 2
