Rasa saw the person in front of him and his eyes reddened. He swung his arms back and charged at him in a ninja sprint.
Hoshino Maki calmly rose to his feet. A bright, gleaming object slipped from his pant leg and slammed into the dune, leaving a large dent in the sand.
Rasa came within twenty meters of Hoshino Maki. The moment he saw the object, his pupils contracted, and an ache seemed to spread through his body. He hurriedly stopped. The sand he kicked up as he came to an abrupt halt gave him a little sense of security.

Holding the ankle weights in one hand, Hoshino Maki stared at the kunai in front of him for a moment. Then, as if nothing had happened, he picked it up and said with a smile, "It's normal for a ninja to hide kunai in his sleeves, too, right?"
Rasa sensed a strong hostility behind that smiling face.

Hoshino Maki calmly put away the ankle weights and kunai, then smiled casually. "I just wanted to chat. There's no one else here but us."
Rasa curled his lip in disdain. "How do I know whether the one talking
