Background / History

Louis entered the South Sea CP Training Camp as a child and was assigned with Wade and Dylan to suppress a rebellion in a South Sea country. Operating as a mole within Otto’s organization, he manipulated the city’s two dominant underground groups into destroying each other, then killed Otto and the rival leader before leaving undetected. The mission qualified the trio to enter the CP system officially. 1 2

At the graduation assembly, Louis rejected placement in CP8 and demanded a duel with Frank for a CP9 position. Though Frank’s Dao Force was higher, Louis defeated him through advanced Tekkai techniques and his newly revealed Life Return. The instructors ultimately assigned Louis to CP9. 4 8

During CP9 Training Camp, Louis rapidly mastered Kami-e and the remaining Rokushiki techniques, defeated Yerika and Stuart, and developed a competitive rivalry with Xiluo. He passed the final assessment after Xiluo conceded, becoming one of seven successful trainees. 15 19 21 24 27

Following graduation, Louis was sent on an undercover mission against the Golden Lion Pirates under the identity “Mario.” The assignment was arranged by Skello, who intended the dangerous operation to remove Louis after he refused Skello’s political overtures. Louis infiltrated Rhode’s Blood Hand Pirates, reported the Golden Lion’s planned war against Roger, and was ordered to cooperate with the Navy during the conflict. 29 35 46

During the battle and ensuing storm, Louis abandoned his pirate cover to survive. He killed Baro after Baro grew suspicious, betrayed and defeated Rhode when Rhode tried to force a return to the battle, then gathered surviving pirates into a crew that accepted his leadership while fleeing the Navy. 38 46 49

Appearance

Louis is a notably handsome youth with a tall, slender build for his age, pale complexion, and sharp crimson eyes. His most distinctive feature is his waist-length black hair, usually tied in a high ponytail and later weaponized through Life Return. 1 6

Louis is ambitious, calculating, and intensely focused on survival. He believes strength determines one’s ability to control their own fate, driving him to seek CP9 rather than accept a lower-ranked assignment. 4 9

He is composed under pressure and adept at deception, maintaining his cover even when Baro inspects the disguised communication device in his Log Pose. 34 He is also pragmatic to the point of ruthlessness: he kills or eliminates threats such as Stuart, Baro, and Rhode when he judges that leaving them alive would endanger him. 24 38 47

Despite this, Louis values Wade and Dylan, worries about Dylan’s placement in CP5, and vows that the three will survive and reach the pinnacle together. 8 9 17 He can also recognize strength in others, remaining humble after defeating Xiluo and acknowledging that stronger people exist. 27
