Opportunity and Cost

"You're more observant than I gave you credit for."

Seeing that Snape had taken an unusual interest in the Battlefield Instance, Anduin took the initiative and began explaining it to him.

"The reason you think the Defending Party has a huge advantage when the two sides clash is probably not just because they have plenty of equipment that counters the attackers. They also have a significant advantage in terrain, don't they?"

"Right." Snape nodded, then looked toward the screen again. "Look, setting aside the walls and defensive weapons the defenders can use for as long as they like, even their respawn point is much closer than the attackers'."

"After respawning, the attackers have to advance at least a hundred meters to reach the walls, all while under enemy fire. The defenders, on the other hand... only have to travel less than fifty meters to support their own walls, along a route that's both safe and convenient."

"From that perspective, you're right." Anduin didn't deny it. "But that disadvantage isn't impossible to overcome. Haven't you noticed that the attackers have convenient equipment like the Temporary Respawn Point?"

"But those fragile devices are easy to destroy. That's exactly what the defenders did earlier." Snape objected. "So I keep feeling that, apart from having cheaper equipment, the attackers have no way to stand up to the defenders."

"So you're betting on the Defending Party?" Anduin didn't answer directly, only asking with a smile.

"Mm..." Snape nodded without hesitation. "The defenders only lost earlier because they wasted their military supplies. Wood has clearly learned his lesson now, and there's a considerable gap between the two sides again. In my view, the attackers have run out of options."

"I see." Anduin nodded slightly, then said seriously, "It seems you don't have much experience with large-scale
