Installing the "Amulets"

For a moment, the hardened criminals in the entire cellblock stared dumbfounded in the direction of Lockhart's cell, listening to his strained grunts and groans.

After quite a while, Lockhart finally struggled to his feet and made his way to the cell door, supporting himself against the wall. In his hands, he held a pile of metal beads the size of grapes.

"Mission accomplished!" Lockhart pushed the beads forward. "I've finally completed the task the Dark Lord gave me. The rest is up to you."

With that, Lockhart held out the handful of beads to Bella in the neighboring cell.

Bella, the She-devil renowned for fearing nothing and no one, couldn't help grimacing at the foul-smelling objects. Her expression even betrayed a hint of fear.

What the hell was this supposed to be?

Bella screamed inwardly. She couldn't understand why she had to do this in a place like this. Escape from prison using a pile of shit? Was this some kind of joke?

"Don't dawdle!" Seeing Bella take no action, Lockhart urged her repeatedly. "Hurry up! Are you planning to betray the Dark Lord? These were specially prepared by him to save you!"

"Betray him? No! Never! I would never betray my master!" Bella jolted at his words and immediately shook her head.

Then she worked up her courage, swallowed, and accepted the wet, sticky, stinking mess with trembling hands.

"How do we use these?" After taking the filthy objects, Bella seemed ready to throw caution to the wind. Holding her breath, she asked outright.

"It's simple... Hide it inside your body, just like I did. Then the Dementors won't be able to suck out your souls!"
