Hogsmeade was a wizarding village near Hogwarts.
It was also the only village in Britain inhabited entirely by wizards, with no Muggles—a beautiful little village filled with cottages and shops whose roofs were specially thatched.
During every holiday, enchanted candles hung from the trees in the village, shining brightly and looking very pretty.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry stood beside the great lake that began in this village, and the express train's final stop was also there. The students' new school year began at the station.
A path ran along the lakeshore, leading from the station straight to Hogwarts Castle.
To young wizards, especially those who weren't Pure-bloods, Hogsmeade Village was practically an amusement park in the Magical World.
However, Hogwarts allowed only third-years and above to visit on certain Saturdays, and they needed their guardians' signed permission.
That restriction dampened many people's enthusiasm, but not Harry Potter's.
