Background / History

Klein began as an ordinary person who crossed into a fantasy world. In an earlier life, he attended Durmstrang and became its most talented wizard, but the revelation of his Grindelwald heritage turned public admiration into fear. After being imprisoned despite focusing on magical research, he escaped and retaliated against the magical world. His undead forces conquered Europe within months, and he was crowned the Black Emperor; his empire later collapsed when the Wizard Alliance besieged Berlin, where he died at twenty-seven. 2

Using forbidden soul-burning magic, Klein travelled twenty-seven years into the past and began a third life. Determined to avoid repeating the path that led to his empire’s destruction, he sought out Bathilda Bagshot, approached Albus Dumbledore, and chose Hogwarts as a sanctuary where Dumbledore could serve as both protection and a political counterweight. 2
