Facing the Hungarian Horntail, she first used Transfiguration to turn a stone on the ground into a dog, hoping to distract the dragon.
Unfortunately, compared to a scruffy mutt, the Hungarian Horntail was far more interested in a fragrant, beautiful woman.
It was a long and winding battle.
But the result was good.
After more than thirty minutes of fighting, Pheobe finally managed to put the Hungarian Horntail to sleep and pass the First Trial!
"Incredible! Miss Delacour has shown us her outstanding talent for the Sleeping Spell.
Let's congratulate the champion from Beauxbatons!"
Bagman shouted excitedly, and the audience in the stands dutifully applauded Pheobe.
Pheobe's robes had almost been burned away, and her face was pitch-black, but when she heard the applause and cheers, she couldn't help smiling, revealing a row of neat little white teeth.

"Judges, please give your scores."
Once the applause had died down a little, Bagman looked toward the judges on the raised platform.
The headmasters, including Dumbledore, pondered for a moment, then each raised their wands and sent up a burst of fireworks.
"Dumbledore gives eight points, Madame Maxime gives ten, Karkaroff gives seven."
Bagman tallied the scores.
"Miss Curadell's final score is twenty-five points!"
Twenty-five points was quite good, and the audience erupted in deafening cheers once more.
Pheobe waved enthusiastically at the stands, then jogged all the way back to the waiting area.
"Brilliant."
As he welcomed the "Black Pearl," Klein gave her a thumbs-up.
Pheobe smiled shyly, her teeth shining bright and white.
"Mm."
Krum ignored the two chatting nearby, stiffly got to his feet, and tightened his grip on his wand.
