Klein became famous, just as expected.
The next morning, many older students who had heard about the "Flying Kiss Incident" went out of their way to come shake his hand.
"Mate, I'm sorry we had to meet under these circumstances. Good luck."
"Pumpkin Pasties might make you feel better. Here, have one before they're all gone."
"Don't go to sleep tonight, I'm serious. Maybe you'll wake up tomorrow morning and find you've turned into a bat or something. Trust me, it's entirely possible."
"Remember! Don't drink anything suspicious. You know our Head of House is a Potions Master!"
These older students came from Slytherin and the other houses alike. Without exception, they were all stunned by Klein's "fearless spirit."

Anyone who dared to openly challenge Professor Snape was a true hero. Perhaps Hogwarts, A History wouldn't record this brave act of defiance, but Klein Grindelwald's name would live on in the hearts of every student!
"Klein, you'd better apologize to Professor Snape. Maybe there's still a chance to turn things around."
For some reason, Draco Malfoy seemed even more worried about this than Klein himself. He'd been fretting ever since the banquet ended last night, and even being assigned to the same dormitory as Klein hadn't brought a smile to his face.
"Apologize? No, Draco. I'll blow him another kiss and make sure he remembers me even better."
Klein gave him a mischievous wink.
As long as he didn't want to leave, no one could make him.
"But—"
Remembering everything his father had told him about Severus Snape, Draco grew agitated and started to say something. But just as the words reached his lips, Klein cut him off with a wave of his hand.
"Come on, it's no big deal. In fact, there isn't even a problem. We're running out of time. You don't want to be late for your very first class, do you?"
Picking up his textbook, Klein led Draco to the Charms Class classroom. Their professor was Filius Flitwick, an experienced spellcaster. According to the older students, Professor Flitwick, despite his small stature, had been the champion of the Dueling Tournament when he was young.
"Ah, it's wonderful to see new faces every year. What I mean is, you have limitless potential. Being around you always makes me feel as though I'm still young."
Because of his height, Professor Flitwick had to stand on a stack of books to teach. He was a good-humored man, and not as stern as Professor McGonagall. He had many of the new Slytherins laughing, and even Draco, who'd kept his face solemn until now, had relaxed a little.
"Now, class, take out your wands. Today I'm going to teach you five wand movements. They'll make your spells much more effective. Hey, don't look at me like that. This is your first class; you didn't think I'd teach you spells already, did you?"
Professor Flitwick shrugged and began the demonstration.
Pause, flick, and swish.
The five movements were incredibly simple, as basic as it got. The first-year Slytherins soon began practicing.
But Klein didn't. While everyone's attention was on their wands, he quietly slipped away from his seat.
"Is there something you need, my boy?"
Professor Flitwick asked kindly, curious to see Klein approaching him.
"Professor, this is something I've been working on lately. Could you take a look?"
Klein opened the thick black book he carried with him, pulled a crumpled piece of parchment from one of its pages, and handed it over. A badly scrawled spell, crossed out and rewritten many times, was written on it.
"Haha, I don't think a student your age should get ahead of himself. You need to master the basics first. Hmm, a Healing Spell. An interesting idea, but there isn't much room to improve it. What? That's impossible!"
Professor Flitwick had given the earnest-looking first-year a gentle admonition, but when Klein insisted, he glanced over the parchment.
Then the diminutive Charms Master stared at the altered spell as though he'd seen a ghost, unable to look away.
"Th-this is your improved spell?!"
Professor Flitwick turned to Klein, his voice unintentionally growing more urgent.
"Yes."
Meeting Professor Flitwick's gaze, Klein nodded.
"Can you cast it? I mean, if you were able to improve it, then you must be able to cast it, right?"
Professor Flitwick jumped down from the stack of books and hurried over to the desk, so excited that even his beard was sticking up.
"Huh?" "What happened?" "What's going on?"
At that moment, many of the first-year Slytherins noticed the commotion at the front of the classroom and looked over in confusion.
Wasn't that Klein? When had he gone up to the front?
"This is a Healing Spell. I don't think I can—"
Klein shook his head, looking troubled. But before he could finish, Professor Flitwick used his wand to make a small cut in his own palm, then looked at Klein expectantly.
"Uh, all right."
The professor had gone that far, so Klein could no longer refuse. He raised his Purple Sandalwood Wand and pointed it at Professor Flitwick's injured palm.
"Wound Heal."
Pale green light washed over the wound, and it disappeared before their eyes!
"Merlin's beard, you're a true genius!"
Professor Flitwick leapt up and threw his arms around Klein. It was a little impolite, but in his excitement, he really did look like a monkey.
"Professor, come down already. Everyone's watching."
Klein had never dreamed that Professor Flitwick would be so uninhibited. When he'd presented the spell at Durmstrang in his previous life, the professor who taught his class hadn't been nearly this excited.
"Oh, sorry. That was my fault."
Professor Flitwick chuckled awkwardly and climbed back onto the desk. He stared fixedly at Klein, the corners of his mouth rising higher and higher, as if he were examining a priceless treasure.
"Professor, aren't you even a little suspicious that this isn't my work?"
Klein blinked and asked curiously.
"Then what's the truth?"
Professor Flitwick didn't answer. Instead, he turned the question right back on him.
"Uh."
Klein hadn't expected that. He shrugged as though conceding defeat.
"All right, I did improve it."
"Ha! I knew it! The eyes never lie!"
The diminutive Professor Flitwick burst into laughter and said with absolute certainty,
"As soon as class is over, I'm going to see Headmaster Dumbledore and have him submit your research to the Ministry of Magic. Hey, you'll be the youngest recipient of the Order of Merlin, I guarantee it!"
