Master Antoine showed little interest in the materials. He declined to forge more equipment for Bai Xiaowen and recommended his apprentice, Han Xu, instead.
"A true master smith needs plenty of precious materials to hone his craft. These materials aren't bad, but they aren't enough to excite Antoine. Leave them to Montaigne Henry. He'll become an excellent blacksmith."
Bai Xiaowen had no choice. He knew that a high reputation was useful, but it didn't mean he could make masters work for his benefit without limit.
Besides, Master Antoine had a point. Now that Han Xu had taken up blacksmithing as a secondary profession, he would need materials to practice with.
Once the two masters left, only the White Phoenix Team remained in the hall. They finally gathered around the three pieces of the green set, admiring them with delight.
The power of the Deep Sea King Set was beyond doubt.
Compared with the Venomfang Priest Set Fatty wore, the Deep Sea King Set occupied only the necklace slot, one accessory slot, and one ring slot—all relatively unimportant. The Venomfang Priest Set, on the other hand, occupied the weapon and chest slots, two of the most important.
Why did the slots matter? Apart from their set bonuses, individual pieces of green sets usually weren't competitive. Five attribute points, on par with Gold Equipment, was already good; an additional skill was out of the question.
What mattered most on a weapon was its special effects, while a chest piece needed quality and additional skills. Forcing a set into those two crucial slots often weakened an Awakened.
By comparison, the accessory, necklace, and ring slots occupied by the Deep Sea King Set were far better choices.
The individual pieces were exceptional, too. All three combined attribute bonuses with additional skills. Although the pendant
