Background

Qiao Rui is the Qiao Family’s “Little Fourth,” the elder sister of Qiao Qi and the granddaughter of Lord Qiao. Her father chairs a major state-owned enterprise, while her mother operates her own company. Before joining a permanent squad, the family supported her Spirit Realm explorations by assigning two Elite Awakened escorts and directing their mission rewards and Merit Points toward her development. She used those points to acquire a near-complete set of standard-issue Gold Equipment. 647 663 689

Before she met Bai Xiaowen openly, Qiao Rui supported him online as the Proud Princess, running his fan club, logging into his Player Battle Platform account, and secretly helping him during the Boutu Guild incident. 570 677 Her first meeting with him was unusually emotional: she cried, asked whether she could be his older sister, and was disappointed when he declined out of loyalty to Bai Xiaohua’s memory. 570

The reason for that immediate familiarity was revealed much later. Bai Xiaohua, Bai Xiaowen’s deceased elder sister, had attached herself to Qiao Rui without possessing her so that she could return to Earth and see her family one final time. Qiao Rui’s tears and request to become Bai Xiaowen’s older sister were Bai Xiaohua’s final farewell before her soul dissipated. 1438

She is highly strategic, practical, and politically perceptive. She arranged Bai Xiaowen’s participation in the International Alchemists Competition partly to secure Qiao Xiangdong’s support in the later family vote over her team placement. When pressured into joining Ouyang Heng’s team and accepting an arranged relationship, she rejected both paths and made a Psionic Particle-certified oath not to date or marry before becoming an Evolver. 679

As a teammate, Qiao Rui is generous and team-oriented. Soon after formally joining White Phoenix, she contributed her entire 420,000 Psionic Point team-founding fund to the squad’s public resources, despite knowing the immediate enhancement priority would be Li Shuyi’s Hero Trial. 671
