Dancing on Graves

Bai Xiaowen used his dagger to cut open the crocodile's skin and examined the area near the heart, but found no Treasure Meat. He threw the entire crocodile carcass into his Storage Space. After all, as Hero Class, Bai Xiaowen had a large Storage Space of his own, and he was also bound to the team's Shared Storage Space.

In the direction from which the crocodile had emerged, Bai Xiaowen spotted scattered phosphorescent lights. Overjoyed, he carefully approached, parted a clump of unknown dark green plants, and saw a cluster of small, phosphorescent gray grasses.

This is Netherworld Grass. To create Undead Disguise, you need Drowning Bone and Netherworld Grass, but this one clump alone is not enough.

Bai Xiaowen carefully picked the Netherworld Grass. He felt a little short of breath, and for once since becoming an Awakened, he felt a rare sense of fatigue, as if he had been using the Kusanagi-Style Ancient Martial Arts to unleash flames.

As Summoner Class, Bai Xiaowen consumes relatively little stamina when killing monsters. Knowing that the Ghost Mist Zone has negative environmental effects caused by Yin Aura energy, he is careful to conserve stamina and uses the Desert Eagle as a ranged attacker to minimize stamina consumption.

However, less consumption does not mean no consumption. The mental manipulation and calculation also consume a certain amount of physical energy.

More importantly, Rageclaw was also affected by the Yin Aura, its tongue lolling out, panting slightly like a dog in summer.

Bai Xiaowen glanced at the Skeleton Sword-and-Shield Soldier and the Bone Warlock, and was surprised to find that these Undead Species creatures were not Yin Aura. He silently observed the Bone Warlock's Divine Might recovery speed and found that it was actually faster than usual!

"This really is the home ground of Undead Species and Fiend Species creatures," Bai Xiaowen remarked. He put away his Rageclaw and summoned the Vampire Kitz and the Shadow Assassin as his main front-line forces.

"Boss, is this the Dead Spirit Lake space you mentioned?" As someone with independent consciousness, Kitz immediately made his presence known upon entering, taking a rather pleasant breath. "No wonder it's a treasure trove, it feels pretty good, the air is so fresh."

Bai Xiaowen shook his head and said, "You feel comfortable here because you're Undead Species creature. This place is very unfriendly to living beings... Enough said, let's keep going. Kitz, you go first."

"Alright." With the ability to Bat Transformation, Kitz's survivability is quite strong, making him the most suitable candidate to go to the front to scout ahead.

Heading towards Yinwind Ridge, Bai Xiaowen killed several Drowned Zombie and picked two clumps of Netherworld Grass along the way.

"It feels about right." Bai Xiaowen now had eight black Drowning Bone and three clumps of Netherworld Grass at his side. He tried to fuse these special items together, and after a slight flash of light, a tattered item that looked like a raincoat appeared in front of Bai Xiaowen.

Bai Xiaowen received a notification the moment her finger touched it:

Bai Xiaowen tried putting on the tattered "straw raincoat," and felt a slightly cold sensation.

However, as the white mist surged and flowed through the "rainbow," Bai Xiaowen clearly felt that the sensation of constantly absorbing heat from her body had diminished somewhat.

"It's effective after all; the effect of the Yin Aura has weakened. However, the negative effects are still there, probably because the Undead Disguise is an incomplete version."

Bai Xiaowen, clad in Incomplete Necromantic Disguise, walked forward. Ahead lay a low-lying swamp, with large, lotus-leaf-like objects floating on its surface.

The Vampire Kitz stepped onto the first lotus leaf, bounced around on it, and said, "Boss, this lotus leaf is pretty good, it has a lot of buoyancy." As he spoke, Kitz even jumped a couple of times.

"Hey, don't jump!" Bai Xiaowen quickly tried to stop them, but it was too late. Two wisps of gray smoke emerged from the swamp beneath the lotus leaves, then coalesced into two human-shaped shadows without facial features, their sharp nails scratching at Kitz.

Kitz was so startled that he quickly backed away. "Whoa, what is that?!"

"These are Ghost, Soulkin creatures of the Undead Species race. They usually Stealth and hibernate beneath giant lotus leaves," Bai Xiaowen explained.

Kitz's jumping around was like dancing on Ghost's grave; no ghost could stand it. Otherwise, given his Undead Species nature, he wouldn't have aroused the Ghost's suspicion; only a life form like Bai Xiaowen would.

Bai Xiaowen used Insight on the two Ghost. Ghost and Shadow Assassin are of the same race, and they also have a racial passive ability that reduces physical damage by 50%. Of course, in return, they receive 50% more magic damage.

These two Ghost, one is Standard Template and the other is Elite Template. The second skill they share is called Rend, which involves scratching enemies with fingernails to deal physical damage and inflict a bleeding effect.

In addition to the two skills mentioned above, the Elite Ghost also has an active skill called "Ghost Scream," which is a crowd control ability that can cause nearby frightened enemies to scatter and flee.

Upon seeing the Ghost Scream skill, Bai Xiaowen knew he had to finish the fight quickly. This was a muddy swamp, and if he got caught up in this crowd control skill and ran around aimlessly, getting stuck in the swamp would be dangerous enough, not to mention attracting even more dormant Ghost.

Bai Xiaowen pulled out a bottle of ale and gulped it down. A warm current surged through him, dispelling the chill, and he felt his lost energy rapidly recovering. At his command, Kitz and the two Skeleton Sword-and-Shield Soldier pounced forward.

The fastest to launch an attack was the Bone Warlock. With a flick of his withered bone claws, a Heavenly Thunder down, dealing an astonishing 85 points of spell damage and successfully interrupting the Elite Ghost's first attack.

Bai Xiaowen lunged forward, delivering a powerful, flaming punch to the Elite Ghost's abdomen, followed by a fluid combo. Two Skeleton Sword-and-Shield Soldier followed up with Shield Bash, keeping the Elite Ghost unbalanced. Bai Xiaowen then drew a fiery trajectory with two fingers, unleashing Dark Swipe fighting technique. A line of fire slid along the ground, quickly enveloping the Elite Ghost and scorching it backward.

With a hiss, the Shadow Assassin appeared behind the Elite Ghost, striking him precisely in the back of the heart.

Of course, the Elite Ghost takes 50% less physical damage, so the double damage from this Assassination is negated. However, the Elite Ghost is constantly taking an extra 50% spell damage from the Bone Warlock's Lightning Strike and Bai Xiaowen's Flame Scorch, leaving it with very little Life Value.

With that one strike, the Elite Ghost was killed, and a silver treasure chest reappeared.
