A Moonless Night for Killing

Xu Quan snorted. During the chase through the city, several of Bai Xiaowen's summoned creatures had sent him fleeing in disgrace. The humiliation still stung.

"Don't get cocky, you little demon! You had numbers on your side earlier, and I merely chose not to fight a losing battle. Now that I've joined forces with several esteemed masters of the righteous sects, we'll take your wretched life!"

Bai Xiaowen bristled. He had been demoted from "young demon" to "little demon" again.

But while they exchanged those few words, Bai Xiaowen had used Insight to send the five pursuers' information to the Team Channel. Including Xu Quan, there were three level-eight Boss Tier fighters and two Elite Tier disciples. Judging by the disciples' eagerness, they probably saw Bai Xiaowen as a stepping stone to fame.

"What do we do? Fight?" Li Shuyi asked. If they wanted to avoid the battle, they could use an item to escape.

"Fight!"

Bai Xiaowen let out a breath. "We're on flat farmland with plenty of open space. It's perfect for my summoned creatures."

With a wave of his hand, Bai Xiaowen's army of summoned creatures appeared. Working with his teammates, they formed separate battle rings, isolating and surrounding the five pursuing masters.

Of the five enemies, the two High Elite Tier disciples needed little explanation. Each of the three Boss Tier fighters, however, had a distinctive skill.

A short, stout master from Thunderfire Hall wielded twin sabers. Once his Mad Demon Saber Technique gained momentum, he would hack at friend and foe alike, sacrificing accuracy for a tremendous boost in attack speed. His blades flashed in a dazzling curtain that seemed impossible to penetrate.

Another master, tall and thin, wielded a twelve-foot spear. Such Polearm Weapons were uncommon among the warriors of the Sword Song Plane.
