It Was Too Overpowered!

Han Xu received a Four-Star Enhancement Card. After some thought, he decided to enhance his chest armor, the Sandalwood Great Armor.

As a tank, he needed his most important piece of armor to have a high enough enhancement level to absorb more damage.

Once the Sandalwood Great Armor reached +7, it gained the standard +7 effect for Golden Tier chest armor: 21% damage reduction. That was the most practical benefit. Its level 4 effect, Overpowering, granted a +10 bonus to strength contests. Better than nothing. But its level 7 effect, Ironclad Wall, was something else.

After numerous difficult missions in the Sword Song Plane and helping kill several Advanced Bosses, Han Xu had reached level 7. His total armor now exceeded 80 points. Activate Ironclad Wall, and it would soar past 160. He would be a human fortress.

Bai Xiaowen silently marveled at Han Xu's luck. Ironclad Wall was clearly a rare lifesaving effect, perfectly suited to his role as a tank.

Bai Xiaowen had also finished enhancing his Dark Gold Equipment, the Purple-Sashed Cloud Brocade Robe. Dark Gold Equipment was expensive to enhance: each attempt cost 1,000 Psionic Points. If an attempt to reach +6 failed and reset its enhancement level, even Bai Xiaowen would feel the sting.

Getting it to +6 had cost him 83,000 Psionic Points in all. Reaching +7, by contrast, was the least stressful step. Of course, enhancing Dark Gold Equipment to +7 consumed that Five-Star Enhancement Card and four whole Premium Psionic Crystals. In terms of value, those materials were probably worth as much
