After using the five disguise orbs, all five members of the White Phoenix Team, including Cecilia, were wreathed in ghostly energy. Their figures had grown much hazier, too.

Even as teammates, they could not make out one another's faces when they looked at each other. All they saw were blurred silhouettes. As they walked, the ghostly energy hid the movement of their legs, making them look like ghosts drifting along.

"Let's go in," Bai Xiaowen said. "Locust King Village may be much more dangerous than the outskirts. Stay together once we're inside. Don't get separated."

His teammates nodded, and the five entered the dense fog in single file.

Bai Xiaowen's guess proved correct. While they were disguised as ghostly spirits, the ghostly energy in the fog no longer drained their Life Value or mental energy.

As they walked, Li Shuyi suddenly said, "Does anyone else feel weightless? It's like my body gets lighter with every step."

Li Shuyi was an expert in close combat and keenly aware of even the slightest change in her body.

"I think you're right," Cecilia confirmed.

"Keep going. No matter what happens, don't look back," Bai Xiaowen said.

The five pressed on. The sensation of growing lighter became more pronounced, until even Han Xu could clearly feel it.

After an unknown length of time, the outline of a village appeared ahead. Through the dense fog, they could make out a dim veil of light enclosing it.

Abstract images of human faces flickered across the veil, making it eerily unsettling. Rather than protecting the village, it looked like a cage holding it prisoner.

Bai Xiaowen raised a hand and summoned a creature to touch the veil. The creature vanished instantly, though he could still sense his connection to it.

"It's safe. This barrier probably lets us
