That way, Bai Xiaowen and Cecilia would survive, but the dozen or so Camelot mages aboard the dreadnought would be finished. Casualties were inevitable in war, but if those mages died as bait, the Kingdom of Camelot would inevitably hold it against Bai Xiaowen.
Of course, even if the Snakefolk captured the dreadnought, they would need time to push it back into the sea. By then, the Coalition of Nations under Ahan would have arrived. Besides, the scene Bai Xiaowen had seen through the Doom Bracelet showed only a dozen or so Snakefolk Ghost Ships. That was another reason he felt confident.
What happened afterward was easy enough to work out. Morken had led the defeated Snakefolk into the sea to escape. Their speed and endurance could never match a Ghost Ship's, but Priest Orwin's rescue had allowed Morken to get away alive.
Having pieced it together, Bai Xiaowen reassured Ahan. "It's all right. The Snakefolk are bound to be far more experienced at traveling underwater than we are. It doesn't matter that Morken and the other leaders escaped. All their bases have been destroyed. There's no longer a place for them in the Bonus Waters."
His words brought smiles back to the leaders' faces.
"Lord Prophet, what should we do next? Please guide us." Dorothy Goldenleaf performed the Elvenkind greeting reserved for a wise elder. Bai Xiaowen had won her over completely.
"There's one more important matter," Bai Xiaowen said. "And it's probably what concerns you most... the sacred artifact buried in the Bonus Waters."
Everyone in the hall grew excited. With Bai Xiaowen leading them as prophet, they would be far more effective than if they searched blindly on their own.
"The Artoria advance force awaits the prophet's orders," Knight Harold said, rising to his feet.
"The Third
