Fukasaku is cautious and practical in matters of survival. Although he takes the Great Toad Sage's prophecies seriously, he refuses to ask Mount Myōboku's toads to sacrifice themselves blindly against an overwhelming threat. 338 363

Mount Myōboku Crisis
The Great Toad Sage summons Fukasaku and Sage Shima after dreaming of a monster that could destroy Mount Myōboku. The pair are ordered to seek assistance from Konoha before the predicted arrival one month later. 338
When Jiraiya arrives at Mount Myōboku with Orochimaru expected to follow, Fukasaku questions whether Orochimaru can truly be much stronger than Jiraiya. He later escorts Orochimaru, Jiraiya, and Shima to meet the Great Toad Sage. 361
As Ouroboros approaches and threatens to consume the region's Ley Line energy, Fukasaku agrees to defend Mount Myōboku but makes clear that the toads will not accept needless deaths. Orochimaru subsequently assumes command of the defense and assigns the toads their roles. 363
Aftermath
