Background / History
Kazehara is a reborn individual who enters Kōto Ikusei Kōtō Gakuin with a point-based system that can grant skills and items. He joins Class 1-A and immediately adopts a detached observer’s role, choosing a middle-back window seat from which to study his classmates. 1 2
During the entrance ceremony, he singles out the outwardly unremarkable Ayanokoji Kiyotaka as a “hidden protagonist,” drawing Sakayanagi Arisu’s interest. His early actions establish a pattern of gathering leverage: he records Kamuro Masumi shoplifting, preserves both original and edited footage through a Hidden Account, and plans to use the evidence to control her. 5 6 7
Although treated as a Class A figurehead by others, Kazehara does not define himself through class loyalty. Katsuragi Kouhei identifies him as an uncontrollable variable whose interests do not fit neatly into ally-or-enemy categories. 28
Kazehara is the young master of the Kagihara Zaibatsu. This background becomes known to Tsukishiro Tokinari during their confrontation over Ayanokoji and the White Room. 342 377
Appearance
Kazehara has dark red hair, an athletic build with firm but not excessively bulky muscles, and an outwardly ordinary appearance that belies his physical power. 160 387 448
- His hands appear unremarkable despite being capable of crushing a blade through grip strength alone. 387
- He is described as notably handsome by Amasawa Ichika. 377
- During island exams, he commonly carries a backpack containing practical supplies and electronic devices. 405 429
Personality
Kazehara is calm, observant, and difficult to read. He habitually studies people’s motivations, weaknesses, and behavioral patterns before acting, whether he is identifying Ayanokoji’s concealed nature, exposing Kushida’s façade, or predicting Tsukishiro’s surveillance. 5 150 342
He is also manipulative and pragmatic, readily using blackmail, deception, and coercion to create useful arrangements. He considers strength and survival natural justifications for dominance, encapsulated by his response to Horikita Manabu’s concerns about the school’s purges. 6 7 177 223
Despite this detachment, Kazehara can be protective toward people he has accepted into his sphere. He checks on Karuizawa Kei’s safety, promises Kushida justice against Yagami, and tends Amasawa’s injured arm after defeating her. 179 377 447
His confidence occasionally becomes playful vanity. He enjoys Sakayanagi affirming that he is the school’s strongest student and gives deliberately cryptic advice when asked about his training. 160 343
Abilities & Skills
System
Kazehara’s private system displays abilities, quests, points, and a shop. It awards points for accomplishments and allows him to purchase skills or items that enhance his capabilities. 1 11 342
- Began his academy life with 100 system points. 1
- Earned 500 points for completing the task to defeat Class C. 342
- Uses purchased skills for practical goals rather than relying solely on natural talent. 11 62
Physical Combat
Kazehara possesses overwhelming strength, speed, reactions, and durability. He has repeatedly defeated opponents who expected a physical advantage, including Ryuen Kakeru, Hosen Kazuomi, Amasawa Ichika, Tsukishiro Takuya, and Yagami Takuya. 97 203 377 455 457
- Overpowered Ryuen in the forest and later threw him across the Sports Festival court. 97 158
- Blocked Hosen’s full-force flying kick without stepping back, then threw him into a tree. 454
- Dodged point-blank gunfire, disarmed Tsukishiro Takuya, and shot his own palm to test his bone hardness. 459
- Can subdue attackers with minimal movement, such as forcing Utsunomiya Riku into a half-kneel by controlling his wrist and arm. 442
- He admits that his advantage stems largely from system-granted attributes rather than formal martial-arts theory. 222
Athletic Performance
Kazehara’s speed, stamina, coordination, and explosive strength allow him to dominate competitive events and traverse difficult terrain rapidly. 154 161 405
- Won the 100-meter dash in 10.51 seconds while appearing to retain further capacity. 154
- Cleared hurdles while steadily widening his lead over Kanzaki Ryuji. 155
- Won the Two-Person Three-Legged Race with Hashimoto Masayoshi through synchronization and stamina. 161
- Crossed one kilometer of steep island terrain from D9 to B9 in three minutes to claim first arrival and 11 points. 405
- His sole-group status prevents a “bucket effect” during team-based island tasks. 409
Academic Ability
Kazehara is credited with perfect Academic Ability and an A+ Physical Ability rating on the OAA, placing him among the strongest students in the second year. 368
- Finished a Mathematics Comprehensive Ability Test in 15 minutes for first place. 406
- Reads extensively in the library at a pace that impresses Katsuragi. 28
- Lacks broad popular-culture knowledge and performs poorly in a music-recognition task. 419
Chess
After purchasing Grandmaster of All Chess, Kazehara becomes a formidable chess player capable of analyzing openings, tactical combinations, and positional exchanges instinctively. 11
- Regularly plays international chess with Sakayanagi Arisu. 24
- Wins more often than he loses, though he sometimes deliberately leaves openings for Sakayanagi to exploit. 24
- Coordinates with Sakayanagi in the Commander Tower match intervention against Ayanokoji. 339
Technical Skills and Evidence Handling
Kazehara uses technology to collect leverage, evade surveillance, and erase evidence. 6 62 429 460
- Recorded Kamuro’s theft, edited the footage, and uploaded copies to a Hidden Account. 6
- Purchased a Formatting System to avoid academy monitoring of his files. 6
- Repaired Sakura Eri’s camera, deleted incriminating images, and overwrote the deleted data with meaningless shots. 62
- Damaged his electronic watch to create a believable loss of tracking signal during the island exam. 429
- Disposed of a gun, gloves, and other evidence in the sea after the confrontation with Tsukishiro Takuya and Yagami. 460

First Uninhabited Island and Sports Festival
Operating under the Kyougoku Makoto disguise, Kazehara infiltrates the forest, observes Ayanokoji, and easily defeats Ryuen. He later dominates the Sports Festival through sprinting, hurdles, team events, and a decisive victory over Ryuen’s Class C blockade. 97 154 155 158 161

Second Uninhabited Island Exam
Kazehara begins the second island exam as a solo group and rapidly builds a commanding point lead through speed, academic tasks, combat events, and efficient route selection. By the sixth day, his 436-point score makes him a target for Nangong Ya’s pursuers. 405 406 409 425 427
