Background / History

Ryuen leads Class C with considerably firmer control than he held in the original setting observed by Itozawa. Even Class C's former troublemakers visibly fear him, and his leadership is credited to the influence of his ability 6.

During Class C's natatorium assessment, Ryuen became dissatisfied with fighting Water People and exploited a loophole in the rules to intervene against Class B's operation. He struck Kanzaki, attempted to target the more vulnerable Amako Kura, and chose to face Itozawa's four-person group alone while Yasuda-sensei returned to oversee Class C 13.

His fight with Itozawa was stopped only after Kanzaki's group escaped using Watanabe's released water surge. Ryuen was battered and briefly frightened by the flooding, but afterward displayed resentment and a stronger desire for power 14. He quickly identified a loophole in Yasuda's assessment rules, dismissed Itozawa's attempted provocation, and kept Ishizaki from making decisions on Class C's behalf 13 23.
