"The Id"
"But what are you going to the East District for?" Vivian asked curiously.
"For... playing." Altair replied without hesitation, then added, "I'm so bored being home alone all by myself right now."
"You should know that when I was involved in the Werewolf assassination and writing letters to 'crack down on the East District ' a while ago, I helped Simon acquire a piece of territory in the East District."
"I'm planning to throw an Beyonder gathering somewhere, just to have some fun."
After setting down her glass, Vivian said to Altair, "Extraordinary Gathering isn't something you can just organize whenever you want."
"These kinds of gatherings are, after all, private gatherings. You need to consider many things, such as: how to recruit people, how to ensure regular attendance, how to avoid being discovered by official Beyonder, and many other issues."
"Of course." Altair nodded, accepting Vivian's offer. "Don't forget, our family has no shortage of Beyonder."
"I usually make it a habit to bring Simon and the others with me when I go to the East District."
"When I host a party, I can still bring them along. They'll not only protect me, but also ensure the safety of the party—and help me get enough people."
"If we can't find any wild Beyonder, then we'll find some ordinary people—ordinary people with money."
For example, Grellint, do you know her?
"Is it that Viscount who's been writing to you?" Vivian asked curiously.
Altair nodded and said, "It's him."
"He always aspired to be Beyonder. Most of the letters he wrote to me were invitations to their gatherings to discuss Occult Knowledge."
"At the first gathering, I can give him a heads-up; he should be happy to attend."
"I can make money off him then."
"You're so naughty, but I like it." After saying that, Vivian smiled again, glanced at Altair, and added, "Looks like you won't need me to bring you Beyonder to your party."
"Let's pull her a little bit if we can," Altair said, holding Vivian's slender, soft hand. "I can't keep letting Simon and the others film me acting forever."
At 3 p. m. on April 14, 1347, in the drawing room, after handing over the "Traveler's Bag," Altair asked, "Do you know what happened to me a couple of days ago?"
Adam nodded slightly, then smiled at Altair as always, "I know, but rest assured, I didn't peek. I left as soon as it started."
"I am not clear about the specific details of the incident."
After hearing Adam's explanation, Altair slapped his forehead speechlessly, thinking to himself, "That statement was spot on: the air is thick with Amon, and Adam is sitting in the corner."
"Amon, is he not here?" Altair asked softly, his head bowed.
"Not here." Adam maintained his smile.
After saying that, He changed the subject, saying, "I knew Vivian's purpose even before you were affected by the Sealed Artifact."
"But I didn't stop her from having that idea."
"Because in a sense, she did the right thing."
"Please don't forget, the Method of Acting ' can only help you process the Potion and appropriately reduce the risk of losing control."
It's not a panacea.
"Beyonder, in controlling themselves, must not forget the fact that they are human beings."
"Don't excessively suppress your emotions and desires."
"When you need to vent, you should vent appropriately."
"You just need to keep these emotions and desires within a reasonable range."
"Huang Tao — Roselle Gustav —did this very well."
"There's a mindset in your Dashi Country that I don't like, and that's being overly concerned with the feelings of others."
"Abandon this idea."
"It's not good for you; stay true to yourself."
As the last sentence fell, Adam's figure vanished.
Altair, however, fell into deep thought.
On the evening of April 25, 1347, Altair, looking at the two people sitting opposite him, couldn't help but ask curiously, "Audrey, why are you with Grellint?"
"Shouldn't you be at home getting ready for bed at this time of day?"
"My family is having a small party today. Audrey's mother, Madam Caitlyn, is attending with her. And since the Extraordinary Gathering you mentioned is today, I brought her along," Grellint explained earnestly before Audrey, who was sitting in Altair, could reply.
After hearing his explanation, Altair couldn't help but shake his head, thinking, "This is probably something you did on purpose. How could there be so many coincidences in this world?"
After setting down his teacup, Altair said to the maid behind him, "Go and prepare for the two of them..."
A hood, the kind that can cover the body.
After saying that, he picked up his teacup again and poured himself some freshly brewed black tea.
"Shouldn't we leave sooner?" Audrey asked curiously.
Grellint was also very concerned about Audrey's words, and nodded to Altair, who was sitting quietly.
Seeing the impatient expressions of the two people in front of him, Altair slowly explained, "There's no need to rush. This gathering of Beyonder has always started at 8:30 PM."
"It's only 7 PM now, we can leave at 7:30. Going earlier won't make a difference, they won't Door Opening."
After explaining, Altair asked curiously, "Grellint, when does your family's party end?"
"If there's not enough time, let's send Audrey back first, otherwise Madam Caitlyn will worry."
"No need," Grellint explained casually. "My party goes on until midnight, and there are other friends at home who are covering for us."
After saying that, Grellint added, "And Audrey and I were chosen by everyone to be the pioneers of this Extraordinary Gathering—."
Just as Grellint was about to finish explaining, Audrey, sitting next to him, stuck her tongue out at Altair, as if to say, "I'm definitely going to this party today, and you can't stop me."
At 8:15 p. m., once the carriage had come to a stop, Altair handed the hood to the two men and said, "Put these on, and remember to cover yourselves up properly."
After the two men were fully dressed, Altair led them down from the carriage.
Upon seeing the ordinary-looking house before him, Grellint was somewhat disappointed and casually asked, "Are you sure this is the place? This—"
"It's nothing special." Altair said exactly what Grellint wanted to say.
After saying that, he added, "Don't think of Beyonder as something lofty and unattainable. To put it bluntly, they are just a group of ordinary people with special abilities."
