Bad Review
As everyone laughed and shopped, time flew by. After all, people don't pay attention to time when they're doing things that bring them joy.
Don't get the wrong idea.
For women, shopping is enough to make them happy, provided, of course, that you or she have enough money.
For Miss Audrey Loen, the Great Banker, and the two ladies, Altair and Vivian, the landowners and arms dealers, Gold Pound were simply a string of numbers, paper, and metal; they wouldn't deliberately pay attention to them.
After the three had selected their items and finished shopping, Altair's personal maid, Irene, quickly stepped forward and instructed the sales assistant, "The bills need to be sent to the Sheffield Manor in Bexland, Empress Borough. The items need to be categorized, and you must remember what each of you selected, then send them separately to the Hall Family and the Sheffield Family— "
The three buyers of this shopping trip sat aside and chatted, now thinking about and arranging their next activities.
Audrey suggested first, "There's a very nice restaurant not far from here; we can have dinner together later."
Altair then suggested, "After dinner, we can go to the Grand Theatre in Bexland, in the North Borough, to catch a performance."
The suggestion was immediately approved by the other two. After finalizing their target, the three of them, along with their maids, quickly boarded a carriage and went to the restaurant Audrey had chosen, which was not far from Philip Department Store, for their meal.
While the three were still having their meal peacefully, Audrey's personal maid Annie, quickly finished her dinner and rushed to the North Borough Theatre to buy tickets.
As soon as she arrived at the entrance of the Grand Theater, scalpers approached her, offering advice, recommendations, and facilitating transactions.
Since arriving in this world, Altair has always been served by others and has never dealt with purchasing tickets on her own. If she were to witness this scene, she would definitely remark, "Sure enough, no matter the world or era, scalpers always emerge. After all, this kind of work really has zero cost!"
Tonight's performance, "The Count's Return," is a classic drama that is currently very popular. It combines elements of court intrigue, revenge, ethics, and historical themes, satisfying the public's curiosity about the secrets of the upper class.
During the performance, Altair consulted Audrey about her psychology as a refined noblewoman who viewed such plays.
Miss Audrey looked surprised upon hearing the question, but still replied that the power struggles, etiquette, and grudges depicted in the play seemed crude, childish, and dramatic to her.
"The methods used to solve the problem were too dirty, not reliable enough, would leave significant long-term consequences, and the protagonist was too emotional."
Therefore, there are very few ways of handling and resolving issues that we can learn from and adopt.
Upon hearing this answer, Altair was slightly surprised. After nodding, he immersed himself in watching and learning as Audrey had instructed.
After the play ended, Audrey got into the Altair family's carriage and chatted with the two men as they left the North Borough.
Watching Audrey's departing figure, Vivian couldn't help but sigh, "Polite, gentle, lively, socially adept, worldly-wise, never impolite—it's almost unreal."
Hearing these comments, Altair smiled and shook his head, saying, "I told you, you get a very special feeling when you're with her."
"Mmm... it's like being gently enhanced from the inside out."
"Indeed." Vivian nodded, agreeing with her.
After the carriage started moving again, the two returned to the Sheffield Manor a few minutes later.
When Butler Hahn saw Altair return, he came over with a contract and said to her—
"Count Altair, the shopping you arranged has been completed and the transaction is finished."
T
Seeing that Butler Hahn hadn't directly stated the specifics, Vivian smiled at Altair and said, "Darling, I'll be waiting for you upstairs."
"Okay, I'll explain it to you in a bit," Altair replied with a smile.
Vivian kissed Altair on the cheek and then slowly walked upstairs.
Once Vivian had completely disappeared down the stairs, Altair gestured to Butler Hahn to follow her.
Entering the study and closing the door, Altair reached out and took the contract. As he flipped through it, he asked, "Is the Merchant you chose clean? Are you sure we won't find anything?"
"Yes, I'm sure," Hahn replied respectfully but with a serious expression, adding, "Even if things are exposed and the Merchant is arrested, the Beyonder won't be able to find this place through interrogation, divination, or Spirit Channeling."
After reviewing the contract, Altair closed it again, looked at Butler Hahn, thought for a few seconds, and said to him, "You won't be taking a vacation this year. I need you to stay in Bexland and secretly develop this property, finding a secret passage."
"Once you find them, keep everyone under control and don't let them in, including you."
When Butler Hahn saw Altair's serious expression, he nodded and didn't ask any more questions.
As Butler Hahn turned to leave, Altair casually said, "Don't let anyone go, including those two old men. Don't tell them about this."
After the Butler Hahn, left the study, Altair picked up the contract again and began to examine it, silently calling out "Adam" in his mind.
A few seconds later, when the presence of a second person was felt in the room, Altair shook the contract in his hand and smiled, "Curious why I bought this house?"
Adam maintained his smile and said, "You need to win over Medici."
Altair countered, "Why do you think I only want to subdue Medici? Can't I just take in Sauron and Einhorn?"
Adam calmly replied, "This is the result of my analysis of your personality and way of thinking."
"And you even want to use him to cause me trouble."
"Ugh, chatting with the Spectator is so boring." After casually complaining, Altair asked, "Red Maid, or rather, the three-in-one hot pot broth, how are you planning to sell it?"
"I need them to work for me for five, um... no, ten years. Only after ten years can they be released back into the wild."
"If possible, you'd better give me proof of the ancient Sun, or proof of the True Creator, so that I can command him."
Adam frowned slightly, thought for a moment, and said, "' Red Maid ' is a very nice nickname. They can trade it to you as payment for today's information and as apology for what happened before."
"As for the two tokens, I have neither. Even if I did and gave them to you, you would have difficulty explaining their origin."
"However, I can arrange for them to follow you and be inseparable from you."
"You know, the Hunter Pathway exists solely for war; it has no other use. They cannot change their true nature."
"A collection of vengeful spirits; without my protection, their consciousness would have long since dissipated and they would have gone mad."
"Alright," Altair nodded, "Since you're so generous, then I won't stand on ceremony."
As he spoke, Altair extended his left hand, gesturing for Adam to take something out.
Seeing this, Adam shook his head and said, "Breaking the seal would be too noisy and would make it difficult for you to hide yourself and develop secretly."
"First, find a ' Gatekeeper ' trait to craft Sealed Artifact."
"Shouldn't you be the one to pay for this?" Altair asked, frowning slightly.
Before the words were even finished, Adam's figure was slowly disappearing. He didn't answer Altair's question, but instead said, "Remember to go to bed early, you have class."
Altair looked at the empty space and complained, "Bad review! Your store doesn't even offer home delivery service."
After complaining, Altair asked in surprise, "What kind of class? Did I make this deal with you?"
