Under Yeyue's guidance, the members of D Class quickly found a base. A machine installed by the school had been embedded in the wall, and a stream lay nearby. After setting down the tents and other luggage by the riverbank, Hirata wore a brilliant smile and silently looked at Yeyue.
Yeyue met his gaze without much interest. "Hirata?"
Understanding what he meant, Hirata helplessly turned to the D Class students. "Next, we need to decide who will be the leader. What does everyone think?"
Seeing Kushida raise her small hands, Hirata spoke kindly. "Kushida, go ahead."
"Hm."
Kushida revealed a sweet smile and turned toward everyone.
"I think that even if Yeyue, Hirata, and Karuizawa don't want to, they would still draw attention very easily. But if we're entrusting someone with the position of leader, they need a sense of responsibility, right? I think Horikita is the only one who meets that condition. What do you all think?"
"Ha." Shinohara looked somewhat incredulous. "How does she have any sense of responsibility? Why haven't I noticed?"
"Although Little Kushida makes sense, I don't really have much of an impression of Horikita. Aside from Yeyue and Ayanokoji, she hardly communicates with any of us," another girl agreed.
She had not been useful during the Sudo incident, and Yeyue had placed the credit for the point-buying incident on Ayanokoji. Horikita Suzune had received almost no recognition from anyone.
"Well." Yeyue glanced at Horikita Suzune, who was sitting alone on a rock some distance away, and offered an explanation. "Suzune really is a very responsible person. There won't be any problem leaving it to her."
"If Yeyue says so too, then I agree!" Matsushita Chiaki promptly raised her hand in support.
Seeing that Hirata said nothing, Karuizawa also expressed her agreement.
