Background
Ichinose was raised by her mother in a single-parent household alongside a younger sister two years her junior. Wanting to ease the family’s financial burden, she worked hard in school to earn scholarships. When her sister wished for a hair clip as a birthday gift and their mother became ill from overwork, Ichinose stole the clip for her. Her mother made her apologize, the matter never reached the police, but Ichinose continued to regard herself as a criminal and carried enduring guilt over the act. 3
Upon entering Koudo Ikusei High School, Ichinose was recognized as the future leader of B Class. She met Tenyo Yuyuki at the school gate, where their friendly exchange became the beginning of a cross-class friendship. 1 3
Appearance
Ichinose is a poised young woman whose warm manner and bright smile make her immediately approachable. She is widely regarded as one of the first year’s most popular girls. 2 47
- Waist-length pink hair. 2
- Sapphire-blue eyes. 2
- Delicate facial features and a radiant, welcoming smile. 2
- Wears the school’s wine-red uniform. 2
Personality
Ichinose is exceptionally kind, tolerant, and considerate. She is willing to help others even when doing so disadvantages her, and her classmates trust her promises completely. Her compassion is strong enough to unify people with conflicting personalities, though Kanzaki notes that this same tolerance can leave B Class overly dependent on her outlook. 1 51 104
She avoids blaming others and habitually takes responsibility upon herself. After Class B’s academic defeat, she described the result as her own incompetence rather than condemning the sabotage involved. 196 When rumors exposed her childhood theft, she refused to suspect Nagumo or Ryuen without proof and treated the allegations as facts she had no right to deny. 353 354
Ichinose’s greatest vulnerability is her inability to forgive herself. The theft led her to take a year away from junior high school, and its exposure at Koudo Ikusei leaves her fearful of her classmates’ judgment despite her outwardly composed smile. 354

Cross-Class Cooperation
As B Class’s leader, Ichinose maintains a cooperative relationship with Yuyuki and Horikita’s class during the Uninhabited Island Special Exam. Protection of Her Class
