Chapter 14

"This is the place."

Li Mu pushed open the door and entered the slightly worn Ollivander's Wand Shop.

"I've never seen you before."

Before he could speak, the white-haired shop owner, Ollivander, took the initiative. "Ever since you came in, every wand in my shop has been trembling slightly. I can be certain that you have an exceptionally powerful wand on you."

"Sharp eyes."

Li Mu raised the Hollow Cane in his hand.

"May I see your wand?"

Ollivander asked expectantly.

"If you can satisfy me."

Li Mu smiled.

"I only make and maintain wands."

Ollivander frowned.

"That will be enough."

As he spoke, Li Mu began taking out materials one after another.

These were not materials he had bought in Diagon Alley, but scraps from various Mist Beasts that he had purchased at Spark Camp. Many consisted of only a few hairs or several broken scales, yet there were dozens of different kinds altogether.

"What are these things?"

Ollivander asked doubtfully.

"I want you to use these to make wands."

Li Mu stated his intention.

"Wandmaking requires materials that contain Magic Power."

As he spoke, Ollivander reached for a Blue Giant Beast Horn.

He wanted this unfamiliar Wizard to understand that things from the Muggle World could not be used to make wands.

However, the moment he touched the beast horn, sparks of electricity burst from it. Though not particularly powerful, they still numbed Ollivander's entire body. Having initially paid these things no mind, he immediately began examining the materials seriously.

As a master wandmaker, Ollivander was highly knowledgeable about all kinds of magical materials.

Yet he had never seen any of these materials before. More strangely, although they contained no Magic Power, they held some unknown force within them. Their hardness and other properties even surpassed those of materials from many Magical Creatures.

Could these materials themselves have come from dozens of fantastic creatures that possessed no Magic Power?

"I've never seen these materials before."

Ollivander said regretfully, "Although I would very much like to try making wands from them, I hope you understand that even among materials from Magical Creatures, only a very small number are suitable for wandmaking. Since these materials have no Magic Power, they cannot possibly be made into wands."

"What a pity."

Li Mu sighed.

Thud!

Ollivander fell to the floor, staring at Li Mu in disbelief as his eyes closed.

Li Mu put away all the materials. He had never expected these things to be usable for wandmaking in the first place.

From the very beginning, he had prepared to set Ollivander up.

Without exception, these materials had all been soaked in the juice of Ever-sleep Flowers. This plant from the Misty World had sap with an extremely potent sedative effect. Ollivander had been touching and handling these materials, and had even licked some of them. How could he possibly remain awake?

Moving as quickly as possible, Li Mu stored every box containing wands in the Phoenix.

He had swiped over a thousand wands. The young wizards of the British Magic World would have quite a headache in the future.

If conditions allowed, he had even wanted to kidnap Ollivander directly.

Unfortunately, he lacked any means to control him, so this time he could only show mercy.

Before leaving, Li Mu left behind ten thousand Gold Galleons.

The Wizards who had targeted him because he had scattered Gold Galleons so freely lost track of him the moment they followed him outside the Leaky Cauldron Pub. An LV7 Illusionary Body Curse was clearly beyond the sight of these ill-intentioned Wizards. If there had not been too many of them and he had not feared something going wrong, Li Mu would have wanted to seize another couple of test subjects.

Using the Human Skin Mask to make minor adjustments to his appearance, Li Mu changed clothes right on the street under the concealment of the Illusionary Body Curse.

By the time he lifted the Illusionary Body Curse, he had already become someone else.

He had originally planned to find another hotel and sort through his gains from Diagon Alley, but before he could find one, Li Mu discovered that he was being watched again. This time, however, there was only one Wizard following him.

The Human Skin Mask was impressive, but there were still things it could not disguise.

For example, his voice, scent, and footprints. Therefore, Li Mu was not surprised to be tracked.

He was actually quite pleased. This meant he had another test subject.

Li Mu directly changed direction and headed for the train station, making his pursuer think he was preparing to take a train and flee far away.

After boarding the train and leaving London for only a short while, he used the excuse of relieving himself and jumped off.

He then switched to the Steam Motorcycle and sped down the road. Seeing that there were few people around, Li Mu suddenly summoned the Frostfire Rose and fired a Frostfire Armor-Piercing Bullet at the top of his own head. The next moment, a block of ice fell from the sky and crashed onto the ground.

The ice block and the Flying Broomstick inside it shattered, but the Wizard encased in the ice vanished.

Li Mu made a sharp ninety-degree drifting turn. The moment he slowed down, he put away the Steam Motorcycle and rolled across the ground to dissipate the force. At the same time, the Frostfire Rose shifted into rapid-fire mode, creating a covering net of firepower. The Wizard who had failed to intercept Li Mu vanished from where he stood, then appeared directly before Li Mu the next instant.

His hands had turned into wolf claws, which lunged straight for Li Mu's throat.

At the instant between life and death, the second Frostfire Armor-Piercing Bullet arrived later but struck first.

This time, it was not a freezing round, but the most lethal incendiary round.

This Wizard was no ordinary Wizard. He was a Werewolf Wizard with werewolf blood. Not only was his body astonishingly strong, but he also commanded the teleportation spell Apparition. If Li Mu were clawed at close range, even with his current tough skin, he would not be able to take it.

At less than a meter away, the supersonic incendiary round was impossible for the Werewolf Wizard to dodge.

However, a necklace around his neck activated passively in an instant and released an Iron Skin Charm.

The Iron Skin Charm could deflect most damage, especially bullets, which it could even cause to veer off course. Unless one stood still and endured machine-gun fire, it would not pose a fatal threat to a Wizard. Yet the next moment, the Iron Skin Charm was pierced through, and the Werewolf Wizard became a fireball.

Li Mu retreated a short distance. Several faint red welts marked his left cheek.

He had ultimately failed to evade the Werewolf Wizard's claw completely. He could only deliberately offer up his face and rely on the ten points of defense granted by the Human Skin Mask to block the strike. In eighteen years of this life, this was the first time he had suffered such a major loss.

A wand appeared in his left hand, and he immediately cast an Illusionary Body Curse on himself.

Clear Water Like Spring!

The Werewolf Wizard, engulfed in flames, suddenly had several cubic meters of water surge from his wand and wrap around his body. The flames were extinguished at once, but his entire body had already been burned until his flesh split open. The flesh around the impact point on his abdomen was nearly cooked.

Without prompt treatment, even with a Werewolf's formidable vitality, he would only be headed for death.

Enduring the agonizing pain, the Werewolf Wizard prepared to cast Apparition.

However, the pain throughout his body made it difficult for him to concentrate, and the charred layer on his wand also interfered with his casting. Though his intense desire to survive still allowed him to nearly succeed in casting Apparition, the spell was much slower as a result.

Li Mu, who had already approached while invisible, raised his hand and cast an LV7 Forgetfulness Curse.

Because his entire body had been badly burned, the Werewolf Wizard's sense of smell had been fatally impaired. He could not detect Li Mu approaching while invisible, and naturally had no time to evade the LV7 Forgetfulness Curse. The moment it struck, he forgot that he had been about to cast Apparition.

Li Mu raised the Frostfire Rose and fired Frostfire Rapid Fire directly into his face. Before long, the Werewolf Wizard had frozen into an ice sculpture.
