Marcus, neatly dressed and holding a stack of documents, entered through the main doors under the guidance of several other enforcers.

The moment he stepped inside, Marcus found several gazes fixed on him.

The councilors' eyes rested on him, making his heart tremble instinctively. But Marcus soon lifted his head and calmly walked to the empty space at the center of the table, standing there under the councilors' scrutiny.

"Following our investigation, Zaun's actions over the past two days are as follows—"

Marcus opened the documents in his hands, their pages densely covered with records of recent events in Zaun.

"Without permission, they dismantled the wastewater pipes, repaired them, and sealed them off. This will cause problems with Piltover's wastewater disposal in the future."

Before Marcus had even finished his first point, a councilor spoke up.

"What? They repaired the wastewater pipes? How dare they?"

Borborok's voice buzzed. His mechanical face revealed no expression whatsoever, but his tone was thick with displeasure. He continued, "They altered the pipes without authorization. Do those Zaunites have any regard for us at all?"

Hearing that, Mel frowned.

She very much wanted to ask Borborok why the Zaunites needed to have any regard for them.

Mel had arrived in Piltover after the pipes had been built. Frankly speaking, she believed Piltover had been wrong to do this. It had certainly benefited Piltover, but it had severely harmed Zaun's interests. So wasn't it only natural that they hated them now?

You couldn't slap someone in the face, expect them not to hit back, and then forbid them from even hating you in private.
