The furious Cyclops, provoked by Guan Heng, unleashed his full fighting spirit with a long roar.
But Professor X's worried words made the spectators' hearts skip a beat. They knew the power of the laser beams Cyclops, Scott, fired was extraordinary. When Scott was young, their power was uncontrollable, causing him to fear and rarely use their true potential.
Cyclops's energy was gathered by absorbing solar energy and stored in a special area of his brain. The Ruby Quartz Glasses had the same frequency as this energy field, capable of blocking the particle beams. Buttons on the sides of his glasses and the palms of his gloves controlled the lenses' opening and closing, regulating the beam's range.
Because Cyclops couldn't control his abilities, he had to wear the glasses constantly. This was due to a head injury and mental trauma in his youth. In a state of extreme anger, he could unleash world-destroying power.
"If this continues, Scott might really lose control," Ororo said. "Why not stop the match now? It's not a fight to the death, why be so serious?"
"No, I feel like Scott is holding back," Jean Grey shook her head. "I sense Cyclops is controlling the power he's about to unleash." Jean looked at Guan Heng with a hint of confusion and murmured, "I suddenly really want to see how he handles it."
In fact, by this point in the match, Professor X and everyone else knew Guan Heng's strength was superior, possibly even surpassing all the X-Men. They weren't too worried about him.
At this very moment, Scott, inside the arena, finished gathering energy. The red light, which had been concentrated in his eyes, now covered his entire body in a crimson glow.
"Hahaha, so this is your limit!" Guan Heng felt the oppressive force from Cyclops opposite him and was filled with excitement. His desire for battle surged. He let out a low growl, pushing his Qi Control to its limit. A white incandescent light slowly enveloped his body. At this moment, the Ice Fire Rings on his right hand flashed with an unusual light, and red and blue hues silently merged into the invisible Qi Control.
Guan Heng suddenly felt something was off. His power was never this immense before. He didn't realize it was Odin's bestowed spiritual power at play, increasing his Iron Fist Power exponentially. Furthermore, the Source of Fire God Power and the cold air from the Box of Frost stored in the Ice Storm and Flame Storm rings had merged into Guan Heng's invisible Qi, creating a terrifying power of three forces combined.
A surge of heroic spirit filled his chest. Guan Heng felt that even if all the X-Men attacked him at once, he had the confidence to defeat them. Their strongest telepathic attacks wouldn't affect him at all. Those who manipulated the weather had limitations in range and stamina, while his own power could easily deliver a devastating blow to them.
Scott let out a roar in the arena, gathering all his power into his eyes. With a crackling sound, the Ruby Quartz Glasses he wore suddenly shattered.
BOOM! A thick, red beam of light, taller than a person, shot out, grazing the ground and charging ferociously towards Guan Heng. It could be described as unstoppable. Wherever the red light passed, the grass, stones, and other objects on the ground turned into scorched earth with steaming hot air.
"ROAR!" Guan Heng let out a deafening roar and lunged forward. His fists were suddenly covered in a layer of chilling ice-blue.
BANG BANG BANG! He unleashed dozens of blows with his Mountain-Shaking Iron Fist against the red light beam. CRACKLE CRACKLE CRACKLE! The biting cold from his fists actually froze the light beam into a solid object.
Under the fierce attack, like splitting the sea and collapsing mountains, the red light beam instantly turned into scattered dust, dissipating into the heavens and earth.
Guan Heng, his fists imbued with unparalleled cold energy, moved like a raging storm, swift and unparalleled. "ROAR!" He ferociously punched towards Scott's face.
Scott, having exhausted all his energy, was powerless to counter. He was on the verge of death.
"Guan Heng, show mercy!" Professor X and all the X-Men shouted in unison.
His fist stopped just an inch from Scott's nose. Scott's cold sweat froze on his forehead, unable to fall. The frost energy had suddenly vanished. If not for that, his head would have become a giant ice ball. That biting frost energy came from the Treasure of the Ice Giant, the Box of Frost. It could freeze even the bodies of the Norse gods, let alone Cyclops.
Whether it was Scott in the arena or the Professor and the X-Men outside, they all felt the world-destroying power of Guan Heng's punch. They had no doubt that if this punch had landed on Scott, it would have utterly annihilated him.
"Finally, success!" Guan Heng had been trying to fuse the frost power from the rings with his own invisible fist energy, but there was always a slight gap. As a result, during the duel with Cyclops, he felt the opponent's powerful pressure and finally broke through. Since Ice Fist was successful, would Flame Fist be far behind?
"I lost," Scott said, his fighting spirit completely gone, slumping to the ground, exhausted. He covered his eyes with his hand. Without his Ruby Quartz Glasses, he couldn't look directly at people, or he would harm his friends.
Guan Heng took out a pair of sunglasses from his belt's storage pouch and handed them to him. "Don't mind using mine for now. They're also made of pure quartz."
"Thank you." Scott put on the glasses and felt slightly better.
"Hey man, you okay? Come on, grab my hand." Guan Heng extended an arm and clasped the other's hand, pulling Cyclops to his feet.
The X-Men were stunned. No one present could have defeated Cyclops so thoroughly. This Guan Heng's strength was terrifyingly formidable.
"What a fierce punch, countless times more intimidating than my weather powers," Storm, Ororo, murmured. "And his terrifying battle intent... it leaves me with no confidence to fight him. I actually thought about challenging him just now, but I'm afraid I would have been blown away by his attack before I could even summon lightning and wind."
"Hey, you two, hurry over once you're done," Professor X called out to Guan Heng and Scott in the arena. "Let's head back to the academy. The teachers will be gone for a short while, so the kids might behave. If we're gone too long, these monkeys will turn the place upside down. Jean, you ride Scott's bike back and prepare some snacks and drinks. We can all chat properly."
Guan Heng's strength was enough to make all the X-Men gasp. Some had wanted to spar with Guan Heng after Cyclops, but now, greatly stimulated, they swallowed their challenge words. Looking at Guan Heng again, their eyes held only admiration for the strong.
Everyone packed up their things and prepared to get in the cars to return to the academy. At this moment, Guan Heng patted Cyclops's shoulder and quietly said to him, "Scott, your eye lasers are incredibly powerful. The destructive force is truly astonishing. Even now, my fist still feels sore and numb from clashing head-on with your attack."
"Is that so?" Cyclops, having lost, felt a bit dejected. Hearing Guan Heng's praise, he felt slightly better, but he sighed, "But I still lost."
