Just as Riven was about to faint from hunger, the waiter knocked on the door and pushed in a cart piled high with food.
The scent of meat somehow squeezed a little more strength out of Riven. Without bothering with a knife and fork, she grabbed a half-rare steak and began devouring it.
This was only part of the meal. Since the table was too small to hold everything, the chefs had simply prepared half of it first and would make the rest once they had nearly finished eating.
The drinks, however, were the first things placed on the table.
"Sir, this is strong liquor brewed by Fortress Night itself, using grain we purchase ourselves," the waiter introduced. "We specifically went to the Southern Continent to learn distillation techniques. It is brewed from wheat, rice, and peas. Anyone unaccustomed to drinking can be knocked out with a single sip."
Ato took the bottle and poured himself a small glass. The clear liquid inside fizzed with bubbles.
He drained it in one gulp. Heat immediately rushed into his stomach. Aside from the familiar burning sensation, it carried a faint fragrance of grain, remarkably similar to the Baijiu he had drunk in his previous life.
"Not bad." Ato was quite satisfied with the liquor's strength and deliberately chose not to use the Demon Sword to
