Background / History

Shata became the Living Person Apartment's manager approximately three years before Gao Tian arrived. Before entering the apartment, she dreamed of becoming a barista; her life outside was disrupted by the apartment's missions, including her inability to attend her mother's funeral after her mother died. 32

By the time Gao Tian arrives, Shata has completed five Green Text Missions, tying Jiangyang and placing her among the apartment's most experienced active residents. She explains the apartment's survival rules, its division between the living residents on the first three floors and ghosts above the fourth, and the ten-mission condition for leaving. 13 14

Although she describes herself as having become administrator because stronger residents died, Shata actively mentors newcomers, coordinates missions, and works to preserve the apartment as a refuge for living people. 17 43

She is protective of the apartment's residents but does not make promises she cannot keep. When the awakened corpse threatens the mission participants, she and Jiangyang prepare to stall it, while recognizing that they may ultimately need to retreat with their Black Cards. 24

Story Role / Major Arcs

Gao Tian's Arrival

Shata saves Gao Tian from the Building Manager's attack and introduces him to the Living Person Apartment, Yusheng, and Jiangyang. She establishes the central choice facing residents: complete ten missions and leave, or die. 13

Sapphire Mall Mission

Shata recruits Gao Tian to observe and assist with Boss Jin's Green Text Mission at Sapphire Mall. She leads the search for Xu Yuan's corpse pieces, finds multiple pieces herself, recognizes the mission's abnormal participant list, and deduces the supernatural nature of the mall's advertising screen. 16 22 23

After the assembled corpse transforms and attacks, Shata attempts to delay it with Jiangyang. Once Gao Tian suppresses the corpse, she instructs the survivors to keep the effects of their rewards secret. 24 25

Fourth-Floor Intrusion

When Gao Tian reports marbles arriving from the fourth floor, Shata immediately treats it as a potential collapse of the apartment's safe-zone rules. She returns to investigate, calls an emergency meeting, and warns that the residents' faith in the apartment could collapse if ghosts can truly reach the lower floors. 28 29

Ascend Team

Shata supports the formation of an elite team to investigate the fourth floor before its supernatural influence spreads further downward. She approves Gao Tian as a conditional member, requiring him to finish a third Green Text Mission before the team's planned ascent. 30 31

Bus 444 Briefing

Before Gao Tian's third mission, Shata explains key Bus 444 restrictions, including that Black Cards cannot return passengers to the apartment during the mission and that passengers cannot leave the bus except at designated stops. She appoints Gao Tian captain and warns Zhou Yan and Ling Feifei against endangering their teammates. 43 44
