Their drinks soon arrived at the table.
Akasaka kindly ordered a drink each for Morishita and Kamuro, who were still standing.
The two of them sat down and joined the others.
Like a total social butterfly, Morishita Ai sat right beside Akasaka, across from Sakayanagi.
Sakayanagi didn't seem to mind. She just teased him a little.
"Morishita seems to like you quite a bit, Akasaka~"
Akasaka lifted his coffee and smiled helplessly.
"We just get along well. We're like kindred spirits."
"Maybe we're destined to be tangled up in an inescapable relationship from now on."
Morishita Ai cupped her coffee in both hands and cautiously took a sip, then stuck out her little tongue.
"Ugh, it's so bitter! This stuff tastes awful."
Morishita looked at Akasaka beside her—or, to be precise, at the flat white in his hand, eyeing it hungrily.
After all, the flat white Akasaka had ordered was practically a dessert.
Akasaka boldly pushed his untouched flat white over to her, swapping it for the coffee Morishita Ai had already drunk from. He didn't care about the difference between men and women or the indirect kiss.
Morishita Ai accepted it without a second thought.
Like a lazy little cat, she sprawled across the table, sticking out her tongue to lap at the flat white in the cup. She was the spitting image of a sleepy kitten.
Akasaka boldly reached out and stroked her lovely purple-and-blue hair.
Morishita didn't resist. She simply let Akasaka stroke her.
The scene left Sakayanagi and Kamuro across from them utterly dumbfounded.
Seeing how docile Morishita Ai was in Akasaka's hands, the two of them wore strange expressions.
Kamuro couldn't help making a comment.
"You two get along so well. Why don't you just date?"
Akasaka and Morishita Ai both froze. They looked at each other and spoke at the same time.
"Sure!"
"No way!"
"Huh? ×4"
Akasaka had said no, while Morishita Ai had said yes.
Morishita Ai hadn't expected him to turn her down. She wasn't exactly bad-looking, after all.
Akasaka hadn't expected her to accept, either. It really caught him off guard.
Sakayanagi covered her mouth and chuckled.
"Morishita just got rejected."
Morishita sulked and bit down on her straw, blowing bubbles into her drink. She was clearly upset.
Akasaka felt awkward, too, and quickly explained.
"I owe a lot of money outside school. Until I've paid it off, I'm not considering dating anyone."
"Otherwise, it just wouldn't be fair to the girl."
"My, my. I didn't expect you to be so responsible, Akasaka," Sakayanagi said with a teasing smile.
"But there's no need to worry."
"Morishita Ai comes from a very wealthy family."
"For the Morishita family, that little debt of yours is nothing more than a drop in the bucket."
As Sakayanagi teased him, I stirred the coffee in my cup with a spoon. My reflection wavered in the coffee.
"I don't want to live off a woman."
The group fell silent.
Those words had left the three girls across from him utterly stunned.
Kamuro was the first to react. She burst out laughing.
"Hahaha! You're hilarious, Akasaka!"
Kamuro laughed so hard she clutched her stomach, tears nearly spilling from her eyes.
Akasaka's face flushed.
"What are you laughing at? What's so funny? I don't get the joke!"
"I just don't want to live off a woman! What's wrong with that?"
Sakayanagi covered her mouth and chuckled, too.
"You really are responsible, Akasaka. But would you still say that after you find out just how wealthy Morishita Ai's family is?"
At her words, Akasaka was left with a head full of question marks.
What, could they buy me just because they're rich?
Sakayanagi seemed to understand what Akasaka was thinking and snapped her fingers.
Morishita immediately caught on and began introducing herself.
"Akasaka, let me introduce myself properly."
"My name is Morishita Ai, and I'm the only daughter of the owner of Morishita International Company."
"It's one of the world's top five hundred companies, specializing in the research and development of Virtual Stealth Technology and various large-scale games."
"They also research Machine Exoskeletons, helping people with disabilities regain the use of their limbs."
"The company has won international awards, including the German IF Design Award, the American IDEA Award, and the Japan Good Design Award, helping improve the quality of life for consumers in Japan."
"It has also received the G-MARK Design Award, hosted by the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization and hailed as the 'Oriental Design Oscar Award.'"
"It's not only renowned throughout Asia, but also recognized by consumers around the world. The G-MARK stands for high quality and ease of use, and has become a mark of honor for many award-winning products."
"And..."
"Okay, okay, that's enough!"
Akasaka hurriedly cut her off. His poor heart couldn't take any more.
Good grief! What kind of family was this?
He'd just turned down a rich heiress like that. Was it too late to regret it?
Morishita Ai seemed to realize what I was thinking. She planted her hands on her hips and raised her head proudly.
"Too late to regret it now! This lady doesn't go back to an old flame."
Akasaka collapsed face-first onto the table, tears of regret streaming down his face.
"Once, true love was right before me, but I didn't cherish it."
"If Heaven has the virtue of cherishing life and gives me another chance to live off a woman..."
"I'll say three words to that girl: I love you."
Sakayanagi burst out laughing.
"Akasaka, your love sure is cheap. Does that mean you'd say the same thing to me, too?"
"After all, my family's no less wealthy than Morishita's."
"Me, too."
Kamuro raised her hand and chimed in.
"My family runs a Bio-Hospital."
"We can't compare with the first two, but our company is still worth tens of billions."
Akasaka stared at the three beautiful girls in shock.
At this point, whether the three of them were beautiful or not didn't even matter to him anymore.
Even if they were three hideous wild boars, he could still see them as Diaochan.
Kamuro raised an eyebrow, sensing a hint of malice.
"Are you thinking something inappropriate?"
"Ahem!" Akasaka awkwardly cleared his throat and quickly changed the subject.
"I was just shocked by what you told me. But now that I think about it, is everyone at this school on your level?"
Akasaka's question carried an unspoken meaning.
Sakayanagi chuckled and answered his question.
"Don't worry. You can treat everyone at This School like ordinary students."
"Their parents forced them to enroll here so they could be trained to become qualified successors."
"Whatever happens at this school, even if they're treated unfairly, they won't pursue the matter."
"That's because they're being trained to inherit their families' businesses, not raised to become spoiled social failures."
"If they can't even survive at this school, their parents will have to consider having a second child."
