Background / History

Zhang Lingqi was formerly the vice-captain of China’s Dragon Ascension Squad. By the time he reaches Deep Pool Fortress, he has betrayed China and is wanted across the land. He uses intelligence concerning the Dragon God to bargain for passage into Dragon Xia Imperial City. 362

He partners closely with Du Linyuan during the battle against Gabetan beneath Prayer Deep Pool. Du Linyuan repeatedly uses time regression after their deaths at Duanlang’s hands, allowing Zhang Lingqi to refine their strategy and push Gabetan to its execution threshold. 336 337

After Du Linyuan’s apparent death, Zhang awakens with two fused Death God Sequences and dead-person money attached to his body. He concludes that Du Linyuan has forced a regression upon him and accepts the burden of changing the worldline, even if it means becoming infamous. 349 350
