Since this was my first time writing Legend of the Dragon King, the beginning might be a little rough. Mainly because there were issues in some places, and there were things I hadn't figured out. That was on me.
I would definitely revise it later and wouldn't make the same mistakes again.
If you could bear with it, then bear with it. If not, it was fine to leave right away.
If it flopped, then it flopped. I would just treat it as a learning experience.
I really hadn't cared that much about it.
In an unknown forest, a purple-haired boy had appeared amid these uninhabited mountains.
Gu Chen groggily opened his eyes. Enormous trees filled his vision, while sunlight filtered through gaps in the leaves and scattered across the ground.
[The Supreme Sign-in System is binding...] [39%...48%...67%...74%...89%...99%] [The Supreme Sign-in System has bound to the host. The system can sign in at the appropriate time and correct location.] [Congratulations, Host, on transmigrating to Douluo Continent. Current era: "Legend of the Dragon King"!] [Ding! Congratulations, Host, on receiving a Novice Gift Pack!]
Gu Chen's mind was still frozen when he heard the mechanical voice in his head. He then widened his eyes in astonishment.
Douluo Continent?
The era of Legend of the Dragon King?
In this era:
Artificial Soul Spirits, Battle Armor, Mecha, and Soul Guidance Technology had flourished, bringing humanity's strength to its peak.
This was the best of times, and also the worst of times!
The Abyssal Plane's covetous gaze, the Silver Dragon King's transformation into human form.
The Plane Master's schemes, Tang God King's plans.
It seemed that everything proved this was the best era, yet it was also the worst era.
[Open?]
Seeing that Gu Chen had not responded, the system asked a second time.
[Yes/No!]
Of course he would open it.
"Open!" Gu Chen selected the "Yes" option in his mind.
[Ding! Congratulations, Host, on obtaining a second Martial Soul—the Purple Desolation Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon—and a Super Divine Artifact—the Purple Desolation Heaven-Falling Divine Spear!] [Purple Desolation Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon: The Purple Desolation Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon is believed to be a twin born alongside the Dragon God, its status even surpassing that of the Silver Dragon King and Golden Dragon King. It is regarded as the Ancestor of Sub-Dragons. Possessing the Core of Destruction, it is an exceptionally powerful and important existence within the Dragon Clan. The Purple Desolation Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon possesses the attribute of destruction, capable of destroying all things. This attribute is extraordinarily powerful and is considered one of the two primary elements from the dawn of the universe. In the Purple Desolation Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon's bloodline inheritance, the Dragon God, jealous of the Purple Desolation Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon lineage's talent and Core of Destruction, attacked the ancestor of the Purple Desolation Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon, seized the Core of Destruction, and fused it into himself, condemning the Purple Desolation Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon clan to a wandering fate.] [System evaluation: With the Purple Desolation Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon Martial Soul and bloodline, you, who have inherited the will of the Ancestor of Sub-Dragons, are destined to face the Golden and Silver Dragon Kings. No one can change that.]
Gu Chen did not care what his second Martial Soul was called. What he cared about was why the system had given him a second Martial Soul rather than a first Martial Soul.
"Second Martial Soul? Then what is my first Martial Soul?" Gu Chen asked the system in confusion, but it did not respond, as though it had completely fallen silent.
Aolai City.
Today was a special day: the annual Martial Soul Awakening Day.
All children who had reached the age of six had come before Red Mountain Soul Master Academy with their parents, waiting for their Martial Souls to awaken.
When Martial Souls awakened, some rejoiced while others grieved.
If someone awakened a good Martial Soul, they would soar straight into the heavens. If it was a useless Martial Soul, life would continue exactly as before.
If one's Martial Soul was a hoe, then there was a high chance that they would never become a powerful Soul Master in this lifetime.
At the Spirit Transmitter's call, Tang Wulin entered the Awakening Room with hope in his heart.
Tang Ziran stared intently at the Awakening Room.
"Son, I believe in you!"
After some time, the Spirit Transmitter confirmed that Tang Wulin's awakened Martial Soul was Blue Silver Grass, and that his Innate Soul Power was only level three.
Tang Wulin left with Tang Ziran in disappointment. Before he left, however, he seemed to notice a gaze fixed on him the entire time.
With some confusion, Tang Wulin turned around and saw a pair of deep eyes in the distance.
He then saw that the boy, who seemed to be the same age as him, was saying something, but the distance was too great for him to hear it clearly.
"What a pity. His Martial Soul was actually Blue Silver Grass." The Spirit Transmitter's tone carried a trace of disappointment.
He then brought in the next child to continue the Martial Soul awakening.
"Gu Chen!"
"I'm here!"
Inside the Awakening Room.
The little boy who had been standing there had eyes that shone with a mysterious and noble purple-gold radiance.
At that very instant, a powerful force surged from within his body, and his Martial Soul awakened.
His already extraordinary eyes now swirled with hazy mist, as though the entire world had undergone a wondrous transformation within them.
A faint white fog spread around his eyes, making him look like an elf descended from an immortal realm.
His eyes were as deep as endless abysses, yet also like the birthplace of the world itself, continuously pouring forth Chaos Qi.
When the Spirit Transmitter gazed into his eyes, he could not help being drawn in, as though he could see the mysteries of the universe and the origins of all things.
At that moment, Gu Chen slightly raised his head. In an instant, countless brilliant stars seemed to gather within his pupils.
Looking closer, those purple-gold pupils had actually divided on their own into two separate sections, reflecting each other and radiating a heart-palpitating light.
Yet what surprised him was that after awakening his Martial Soul, his body had not undergone any obvious, tremendous improvement. Instead, his Mental Power had increased by an astonishing multiple!
This outburst of Mental Power made his perception of the surrounding environment exceptionally keen, while his thoughts grew increasingly clear and nimble.
"Could this be Double Pupils?" Gu Chen examined his body with his Mental Power, saw the full form of his Martial Soul, and silently pondered.
Double Pupils were already an invincible path; why would he need to borrow another's bones?
"It is a Body Martial Soul, and one that has never appeared before. You can give it a name." The Spirit Transmitter spoke with a hint of urgency.
A Body Martial Soul was a part of the body. It could be limbs, the head, the heart, the eyes, or the brain!
Most Body Martial Souls were not weak.
Even if one truly was not good enough, it could still undergo a second awakening in the future.
But if the initial awakening was already excellent, that meant they had found a treasure!
"Let's call it Double Pupils!" Gu Chen said. Naturally, he had a reason for saying so. He refused to believe that anyone in this world could recognize Double Pupils.
First, Double Pupils had never appeared in this world before.
Second, even if they had appeared before, so what?
The Martial Soul Double Pupils and Double Pupils from a higher plane were fundamentally different!
And Gu Chen was certain that he possessed the latter.
"Double Pupils? A good name... Come test your Innate Soul Power!" As he spoke, the Spirit Transmitter took a Crystal Ball from the side and placed it before him.
"This is already the Dou San era. Why are they still using this Crystal Ball? One ball passed down through generations, huh?" Gu Chen mocked inwardly as he placed his hand on the Crystal Ball.
Some people had probably seen this book before.
It was just that the previous title had not really fit. Since I happened to change the title, and it really was not suitable for signing a contract, I simply made it a new book, deleted the old one, and reposted it.
