Kairos could already imagine it.
If he had come in using force, threatening and tempting them by every means, then even if he obtained the Dragon Balls, Kami Piccolo would have forcibly stopped him before he could summon Shenron and make a wish.
He truly had no power to defy him.
But once he died, the Dragon Balls would become useless stones.
If he were deemed an enemy, Kami Piccolo would surely have Mr. Popo kill him at an appropriate time to eliminate any future trouble—or he might simply kill himself.
Kairos's words struck Kami Piccolo like a bolt from the blue, leaving him stunned once again.
Mr. Popo beside him stared at Kami Piccolo in equal shock.
Memories surged forth like a tide, allowing Mr. Popo to piece together everything he knew about Kami.
In the end, he reached a conclusion: Kami Piccolo truly might be an alien.
"Namekian?! I... I'm actually a Namekian?!"
Kami Piccolo kept murmuring to himself. If he had not been supporting himself with Kami's Staff, he might have been unable to remain standing after hearing this news.
At this point, although he was not as aged as in the original story, he had already entered his later years.
Namekians had long lifespans, and those who lived long could survive for a thousand years.
Thus, twenty or thirty years was an extremely short time to them.
Logically speaking, Kami Piccolo's lifespan should not have been so brief.
The reason he had entered old age was related to splitting himself into two parts: good and evil.
In a sense, his lifespan had been divided between them as well.
At this moment, scenes from his past—especially memories from his childhood—kept surfacing in his mind.
He finally understood why he had waited all this time, yet never once had any family come looking for him.
Stranded on an alien world, he had likely been forgotten long ago. How could he possibly still wait for his family to come?
"It seems you didn't know that you were a Namekian," Kairos said again at this moment.
He already knew the answer, but he still had to ask.
Those words brought Kami Piccolo back to his senses. He scrutinized Kairos even more seriously, with a trace of verification in his gaze.
His body trembled slightly, worrying Mr. Popo beside him. "Kami, are you... are you all right?"
Kami Piccolo shook his head, then said solemnly, "If I truly am a Namekian, then I suppose I know why I've always felt so out of place on Earth... All these years, I thought I merely looked unusual and had been abandoned by my family..."
As he spoke, Kami Piccolo's sorrow burst forth as well.
For hundreds of years, this had been a knot in his heart that he could never easily untangle.
"To be a Namekian without knowing it... judging by your condition, you must have been sent to Earth as a child long ago. Some accident caused you to lose the Namekian memory inheritance... As far as I know, Planet Namek suffered a massive disaster several centuries ago. Perhaps that was when you were sent to Earth..." Kairos followed Kami Piccolo's words and gradually revealed more information.
Upon hearing this, the mysteries in Kami Piccolo's heart were answered.
He was willing to believe it was true. After all, Kairos was a Saiyan who had only just arrived on Earth, and there was no reason for him to deceive him about this.
"So my homeland was already destroyed centuries ago?" Kami Piccolo took a deep breath, struggling to calm his emotions before asking.
If that was not the case, he truly could not think of any reason why he had been forgotten on Earth.
"Not exactly. Planet Namek still exists today. It's just that the drastic changes in climate and environment several centuries ago meant that the Planet Namek of today is no longer the Planet Namek it once was. And after that great calamity, its population plummeted. Those Namekians from back then all died in the disaster, while the small number who survived have carried on until now...
"From what I know, you Namekians not only possess considerable combat power, but also master very special abilities. You can create Dragon Balls capable of granting wishes. Now that you are Earth's Kami, I assume Earth has Dragon Balls that you created as well." Kairos continued.
The gloom in Kami Piccolo's eyes faded, and he breathed a sigh of relief upon learning that his homeland had not been destroyed.
But when Kairos mentioned the Dragon Balls, his heart tensed again.
If something like the Dragon Balls fell into the hands of evil people, the consequences would be unimaginable.
"I never thought that one day I would learn of my own origins. Thank you for telling me, Saiyan guest from Planet Vegeta. But may I ask what business brings you to Earth?" Rather than follow up on the Dragon Balls, Kami Piccolo cleverly changed the subject and probed Kairos's intentions.
Naturally, Kairos could tell that he was deliberately redirecting the conversation, but he did not mind. He said directly, "I already told you during my introduction. I came to settle here permanently!
"The reasons are complicated and difficult to explain clearly. I can only tell you that my home planet is now ruled by an unimaginably terrifying evil force in the universe. Our Saiyan race has long been reduced to tools used by them to invade other planets. Now, they intend to destroy my home planet and wipe out every Saiyan, so I fled before that happened and came to Earth...
"Before long, another Saiyan child should be sent to Earth, just as you were when you were young..."
As his voice fell, the atmosphere changed noticeably once more.
Kami Piccolo had learned a great deal from those words, but he could not fully process it all at once.
Kairos continued, "You needn't worry that my arrival will expose Earth's coordinates. In fact, Earth's coordinates were entered into the star map long ago. It's just that no one cares about such a small, remote planet with no value for development... Otherwise, you would never have made it to Earth back then, nor could I have come here. And you needn't worry about pursuers either. If there were any, they would have caught up to me long ago."
As he spoke, Kairos deliberately—or seemingly unintentionally—released some of his aura.
The moment Kami Piccolo and Mr. Popo sensed that terrifying aura, their expressions changed sharply, and cold sweat broke out on their faces.
"You can rest assured. I harbor no ill intentions toward Earth, nor will I do anything to destroy it! You should be able to sense how strong I am, right? Compared to you, if I truly wanted to do anything on Earth, you simply could not stop me."
After saying those final words, Kairos withdrew the pressure he had released.
Kami Piccolo and Mr. Popo let out sighs of relief, but their hearts could not settle.
"Earth welcomes your arrival. You may settle on Earth as well, so long as you do not destroy it or abuse your immense power... As you said, Earth is very small. It cannot withstand the devastation of power like yours..." Kami Piccolo said solemnly.
In truth, he lacked confidence when he said this, because Kairos was simply too powerful.
What terrified him even more was this: just how frightening was the evil entity that was about to exterminate Kairos's Saiyan race?
