(Several years later... on Planet Vegeta...)

A youth clad in rigid Battle Armor, with a pale gold cape draped over his back, sat cross-legged in a wasteland. A faint aura rose from his body, erupting like burning flames. Not far away, a dignified elder wearing the same attire and a scouter stared fixedly at the youth. He was the king of Planet VegetaKing Vegeta.

As King Vegeta watched the youth begin to gather his energy, he pressed the activation button on his scouter with his left hand. Several numbers instantly appeared on its display. Yet King Vegeta continued watching with an indifferent expression, his face unchanged, as though none of the figures could draw his attention.

"3053"

"Is that the absolute limit?"

King Vegeta looked at the youth, who had stopped, with a faintly dissatisfied gaze and thought to himself. The youth, meanwhile, strolled casually over to him, seeming rather carefree. In a cold tone, King Vegeta questioned him, "Still too slow, Betkas. You had a battle power of 1,000 when you were born. Last year, you only had 2,000. This year, you've only increased by another 1,000?"

Betkas looked at King Vegeta with slight contempt in his heart, but said aloud, "I'll work harder from now on." Then he thought unhappily, You bastard, do you think battle power is that easy to raise? Increasing by 1,000 in a year already makes me a bit of a freak. Compared to Son Goku and the others on Earth, I'm already ridiculously powerful right now... though I definitely won't be able to compare to how they can raise their battle power by tens of thousands in just a few days later on...

Killing intent flashed in King Vegeta's eyes, and the temperature around them suddenly plummeted. At the same time, he said, "Enough. Continue your previous training. Remember, someone will come to take you somewhere later. You know what to do." Betkas's lips stiffened slightly. He opened his mouth, but in the end, he said nothing, because he knew exactly what King Vegeta was about to do.

Over the past few years, Betkas had finally figured out what world he had transmigrated into: the universally known world of Dragon Ball, a world filled with powerful beings who could destroy a planet with a casual wave of their hands. At first, he had been stunned, but more than that, he had felt helpless. He had never expected that the wish he made upon a shooting star—to change worlds—would really come true. What made him even more helpless was that he had been reborn as the third Saiyan prince. In other words, he was Vegeta's third younger brother, and Tarble's third younger brother. What left him even more speechless was that Tarble had been sent to another planet long ago because of his personality and low battle power. Vegeta and Betkas, on the other hand, had been kept on Planet Vegeta because their battle power and personalities met the requirements. Still, the training of the past few years had allowed Betkas, who had once been a loser, to taste real hardship.

What was even more fatal was that Vegeta trained in the same place as him. Over the past few years, the two had sparred from time to time, but Betkas had almost always won more than he lost. Back on Earth, although Betkas had been a loser of a young man, he had still learned some taekwondo and the like. His combat awareness could be considered advanced. Against Vegeta, a prince with no real combat experience, Betkas held an absolute advantage. It left the proud prince looking displeased every time, his face turning livid whenever he saw Betkas.

If the Dragon Ball world had possessed more sophisticated political schemes, Betkas would truly have suspected that Vegeta might secretly try to get rid of him. After all, the current Vegeta was not the kind of person who valued family bonds like he would later. Though still young, his arrogance had already taken shape. It just was not as extreme as in the original story, because Betkas was his inner demon. As for King Vegeta, he merely watched what the two of them did and turned a blind eye.

"It's over there, Prince Betkas. Please come with us."

Not long after King Vegeta left, three aliens suddenly appeared behind Betkas and spoke with "kind" smiles. Betkas turned to look at the three aliens who had appeared out of nowhere. He appeared calm on the surface as he assessed them. All three wore the universal Battle Armor seen in Dragon Ball and had scouters on them, though they looked rather strange—one had an octopus-like face, one had a dog's head, and one had a fish-like face. When Betkas had first seen them, he had secretly laughed to himself.

"Understood."

Betkas answered calmly. The three aliens said no more and immediately led him away. They soon arrived at a small spaceship, where one of the dog-headed aliens warned him in an intimidating tone, "Prince Betkas, that is Lord Frieza's spaceship. You'd better be careful. Not everyone there is friendly toward you Saiyans..."

"Oh... thanks." Betkas merely replied flatly. He knew that many of Frieza's subordinates disliked Saiyans, including Frieza himself. If Frieza had not valued Vegeta's talent or something else, Vegeta might have died long ago in the original story. Betkas was no different... He did not dwell on it any longer. He climbed into the spaceship and pressed the activation button. The round spaceship immediately flew upward toward the enormous circular spaceship above. Through the viewport, Betkas looked at Planet Vegeta, then at another round spaceship that had just flown off in the distance, and silently thought to himself...

"Goodbye, Planet Vegeta... and..."

"Goodbye, Broly!"

"Until we meet again, Kakarot!"

"Frieza... Frieza... From now on, I'll have to spend my days aboard your pirate ship... I hope it won't be too troublesome..."

"I don't really like troublesome matters... but if I want to survive, I can only grow stronger. A battle power of just over 3,000 only makes me a low-ranking grunt... I need to reach fifty or sixty thousand before I can possibly thrive under you..."

"So... I still need to work hard. I even need to show considerable potential, but not enough to threaten you... Still, those troublesome subordinates of yours are a bit of a problem..."

"Dodoria and the others aren't a concern. The main problem is the Ginyu Force... they're the ones who'll be the most troublesome for me..."
