Background

Su Li was once a wanderer whom Wu Hen’s father protected and helped survive. She remained grateful to him and promised to protect Xiao Yun, the wounded, soul-lost nephew whose Vessel Wu Hen later inhabits 11 12.

When the Black Shirt Society attempts to sacrifice Xiao Yun to the Twilight, Su Li confronts the entire organization at gunpoint and rescues him. Her defiance results in both of them being expelled from the society and the city shortly before nightfall 9.

After discovering that Wu Hen is not Xiao Yun, Su Li accepts his truth without hostility. She gives him the name “Xiao Hen,” considers their bond a “reconstituted” family, and continues to protect and teach him 11 12.

Rescue from the Black Shirt Society

Su Li interrupts the planned sacrifice of Xiao Yun, points her gun at the Black Shirt Society, and demands that they spare him. The society expels her and Xiao Yun, leaving them to face the city’s night threats alone 9.

She brings Wu Hen to the subway, reunites with survivors who follow her lead, and plans an escape by freight train. Along the way, she guides the group through shifting sunlight, Shadow Evil Spirits, Midnight Mass nests, and the advancing eclipse 10 12 13 14.

When the Great Terror Evil Sun Wu Zai manifests to stop their escape, Su Li refuses to submit despite the immense spiritual pressure. Her soul-radiance erupts as she swears to destroy such “shameful” beings, while Wu Hen ultimately calls upon the Black Miracle Death Sword to annihilate Wu Zai and the Evil City 19 20.

Departure for Re-baptism

After reaching an area near the Nuwa Divine Tree, Su Li is confronted by a golden-scaled God Realm citizen. Though judged as lost for forming attachments to mortals, she requests nectar for the Nuwa Divine Tree before agreeing to leave. Her body dissolves into flower butterflies as she departs 20.
