May 27, Monday
Finally, the day of the Midterm Exam results had arrived.
Class 1-D.
Before class even started, the room was nearly full, with only Gojo Satoru yet to arrive. Many students were buzzing with excitement—after all, this was their first time pulling off a blatant "cheat."
Plenty of the lower-performing students couldn't hide the joy on their faces at the thought of scoring high.
"I bet I'm in the top ten of the class this time!"
Ike Kanji grinned, boasting to his friends.
"What's the big deal? You just saw the test paper in advance."
Yamauchi Haruki, who hadn't memorized as many answers as the other and thus couldn't snag a high rank, sneered at Ike.
"That's a skill in itself, okay? Everyone got the paper, but I'm the one who remembered that much!"
Hearing the defiance, Ike shot back arrogantly.
Bam!
Gojo Satoru recreated the scene from their first meeting, slamming the front door open and leaping in, greeting everyone with a grin.
"Ohayou!
Good morning, my dear classmates!"
"Good morning, Satoru-chan!"
"Morning. Gojo-kun always makes such a flashy entrance."
Hasebe Haruka and Koenji Rokusuke both smiled and returned his greeting.
Seeing someone take the lead, Mori Nening didn't want to fall behind and chimed in too.
"Good morning, Gojo-kun!"
Despite the puzzled look from her friend beside her, Mori didn't flinch, instead turning a smiling face toward Gojo.
Having so many people respond to him made Gojo Satoru genuinely happy.
Still, he put on an exaggeratedly heartbroken expression, covering his cheek as he spoke sadly.
"Boo-hoo~
I never thought so many people would reply to me now... What a shame we're about to part ways."
?????
At his cryptic words, many shot him confused looks. What did he mean by "part ways"?
Ayanokoji saw the scene and sensed something off.
No way... Is he going to stir up trouble before leaving?
He already had a rough grasp of the guy's personality, but this was just too malicious. Dealing with a bunch of problem children was hard enough, and now he was about to stir up resentment.
Seeing everyone's eyes on him, Gojo Satoru immediately dropped his dejected act and grinned as he dropped a bombshell.
"Too bad, but I've really enjoyed being classmates with you all.
I'm transferring classes!"
????!!!!
"What do you mean by that!?
Are you planning to betray the class?!"
Ike Kanji was the first to shout.
"What does Gojo-kun mean?"
"Why can he transfer to another class?"
"Is Satoru-chan joking?"
Following Ike's accusation, the classroom erupted in discussion. Some, like Ike, directly questioned Gojo.
Seeing this, Kushida Kikyo felt a strange sense of dread rising in her heart for some reason.
Once the whole class was focused on him, Gojo Satoru put on another crying act, wiping nonexistent tears as he lamented.
"I treated everyone in this class as my best friends! And you all ganged up to isolate me!
Boo-hoo~!"
As he spoke, he deliberately glanced at Kushida Kikyo.
?????
"Who's isolating you!? Aren't you the one isolating us?!"
Noticing the glance aimed at her, Kushida Kikyo immediately caught on—this guy was trying to set her up.
To clear herself of suspicion as much as possible, Kushida Kikyo decided not to sit back and wait. Instead, she spoke up first to lay out the sequence of events.
"Everyone!
It might—might be because of me. When I handed out the Midterm Exam papers, I didn't give one to Gojo-kun.
Since I don't have Gojo-kun added as a friend on my phone, I missed him. I'm truly sorry!"
After hearing the gist of what happened, many students thought it wasn't a big deal.
After all, Gojo Satoru's grades were so good—what difference did a test paper make? With his results, even if he didn't ace it, he wouldn't fall far short.
"So it's just a small thing, right?
His grades are that good—giving it to him or not doesn't matter."
Seeing Kushida Kikyo explain the reason, Ike Kanji was the first to chime in again.
But this time, instead of agreement, he was met with a challenge from Hasebe Haruka.
"So what if his grades are good?
Isn't that just playing favorites? Weren't you and Hirata the ones always saying the class is one big family?
If you didn't have him added as a friend, couldn't you have asked someone else to pass it along? Or just told Satoru-chan directly in person!
There were so many ways to handle it!"
With someone taking the lead, the group of girls centered around Karuizawa Kei stepped forward too.
After all, they'd never gotten along with Kushida Kikyo's clique anyway, and now they had a chance to call them out.
"Exactly, you did that on purpose, didn't you?
Because Gojo-kun didn't accept your friend request when school started."
"I thought it was weird back then—why send it to everyone privately when you could've just posted it in the group chat."
"Are you holding a grudge against him?"
With the two major female cliques in the class clashing, no one else could get a word in.
Facing so many accusations, Kushida Kikyo started to panic.
She never imagined Gojo Satoru would use such a trivial matter to switch classes. Frantically, she shot a look at Horikita Suzune.
But the shock in Horikita's heart was no less than hers.
'How does that bastard have the points to transfer classes?'
After her last inquiry with Chabashira Sae, she knew exactly how many Private Points it cost to change classes.
It was an astronomical amount for any student—or even any class!
Though she didn't want to believe it, she couldn't think of a reason for him to lie.
After all, this had blown up so big—if he said he was just joking later, he'd be despised by the whole class!
Watching the girls start bickering, Gojo Satoru kept up a heartbroken expression on the surface, but inside he was thoroughly entertained. If they started throwing punches, that'd be even better!
What was that saying again?
'Hehe! I love watching two women fight.'
This scene wasn't a brawl, but at least there were plenty of participants!
"Everyone, calm down. Maybe Gojo-kun is just joking?
Didn't the teacher say we can't just change classes on a whim?"
Seeing the argument escalate, Hirata stepped in to soothe the tension.
But before anyone could fully react, Chabashira Sae, who had been hiding behind the wall, walked in from outside and spoke with a cold expression.
"What Gojo-kun said is true. He's no longer a student of Class D. He's just come back to pack up his things."
Seeing everyone fall silent, Gojo Satoru decided not to drag it out any longer, since Chabashira had already stepped in to confirm it.
He walked straight to his desk to grab his meager belongings.
"Didn't the teacher say classes can't be changed casually?"
As Gojo Satoru gathered his things, Yukimura Teruhiko finally couldn't hold back and raised his hand to ask.
But all he got in return was Chabashira Sae's look—like he was an idiot—and her icy mockery.
"Did you leave your brain in your textbooks?
I warned you very clearly, didn't I?
Private Points can buy anything inside the school!
And that includes the qualification to transfer classes!"
