"Bronze rank was decent, but it was still too low." Su Ye looked at the Earth Spirit Grass mutated by the Light of Evolution.
"I hope it can mutate and evolve into more useful things in the future." Su Ye plucked a handful of Earth Spirit Fruits and stuffed them into his pocket.
He swayed his way toward the Holy Temple.
Keisha was already waiting there.
"System, upgrade the Holy Temple!" Su Ye looked at the church before him, anticipation in his eyes.
[Ding: Do you wish to consume Origin Crystal x1000, Gold Coin x100,000, and Holy Seed x1 to upgrade the Holy Temple?]
"Upgrade."
Holy light enveloped the temple. A phantom of an Angel appeared above Su Ye's territory, then turned into a streak of golden light and merged into the Holy Temple.
[Ding: Your Barracks, Holy Temple, has been upgraded. Current level: 3. Please check the specific attributes yourself.]
Su Ye immediately checked it.
Name: Holy Temple Level: 3 Faction: Order Recruitment: 10/30 (Daily) Gold Coin: 1 Gold Coin (1,000,000) Halo: Holy Immortality Upgrade: Origin Crystal x10,000, Gold Coin x100,000, Holy Seed x10!
"Now even my Barracks is level three." Su Ye smiled as he looked at the Holy Temple before him.
He then checked the effect of the Halo created by the Holy Temple.
Holy Immortality: All troops recruited by the Holy Temple would never truly die. Even if they fell, they would be reborn within the Holy Temple.
"Damn." Su Ye looked at the Holy Immortality Halo. Like the Primordial Dark Eternity of the Fallen Heaven Sanctuary, it was a Resurrection Armor-type Halo.
"I can only say they really are destined enemies. Their Halos even have the same effect." Su Ye looked at the Halo born from the Holy Temple. There was practically no difference between it and the Halo born from the Fallen Heaven Sanctuary.
The only difference was that one was a God Level Halo of the Chaos Faction, while the other was a God Level Halo of the Order Faction. That was probably their only distinction.
"Let's go." Su Ye spoke and followed Keisha into the Holy Temple.
[Ding: Do you wish to spend 10 Gold Coins for today's recruitment?]
The system prompt sounded.
"Recruit."
Holy Angel +10!
"I'll leave them to you, Keisha." Su Ye smiled at Keisha.
Keisha nodded and followed Su Ye out of the Holy Temple.
Without any concern for appearances, Su Ye sat cross-legged on the grass and looked over his current resources.
He still had 4,570 Origin Crystals, but his Gold Coins were nearly depleted. He currently had only 5,570 left.
Su Ye looked at the currency he had on hand with a headache. To a Novice Lord, this was already an enormous sum.
But for Su Ye, it was far from enough.
He still owed an external debt of 50,000 Origin Crystals. That was seriously ridiculous.
Su Ye looked toward the distant Dimensional Gate. That might be the fastest shortcut for him to acquire resources. Relying on the once-daily Void Trial could no longer satisfy him.
"But I'll need to make a plan first." Su Ye looked at the Dimensional Gate and made up his mind.
"Lilith, Thalys, Istar, Pangilia, Keisha, come over." Su Ye called out.
Figures appeared before Su Ye one after another.
Su Ye looked at the five Hero Units under his command and sat cross-legged on the ground. "Sit down. I have something to ask you."
Lilith and the others exchanged glances, then sat opposite Su Ye. Pangilia lay on the ground, her huge head filled with curiosity.
"Let me ask you this. If we were to conquer a dimension, do you have any good ideas?" Su Ye asked Lilith and the others.
Lilith: "Kill!"
Thalys: "Kill!"
Istar: "Kill!"
Pangilia: "Destruction!"
Keisha: "Purification!"
Su Ye: ...
Su Ye looked at the five Hero Units under his command and fell silent. Their answers were rather straightforward. He could see it now—they were all warriors, not good with words.
"I can see it now. Every one of you is a warrior. Do you have any other ideas?" Su Ye asked Lilith and the others.
"God Emperor, you know me. Kill the creatures in that dimension, and everything will be ours." Lilith wore a sweet smile, but her words were filled with bloodshed and slaughter.
"God Emperor, that's what I think too." Istar immediately followed suit.
"Emperor, loyalty that is not absolute is absolute disloyalty. The Empire has no need for them." Thalys put it even more simply. Anyone not from The Empire could be killed.
"God King, I agree with Lilith." Pangilia said in a deep voice.
Su Ye was starting to feel Despair. Everyone under his command was a warrior; there was no strategist among them. Every last one of them was basically a war criminal. He could only look toward the seemingly most normal Keisha.
"Lord, all heretics should be purified." Keisha spoke.
Su Ye's suspended heart finally died completely.
As expected, he had been thinking too much by hoping they could offer him advice. To them, anything that could be solved by force was not a problem.
But here was the problem.
A Dimensional World might not be huge, but even the smallest ones were basically the size of Earth from his previous life.
And that was still the lowest-grade Dimensional World.
What could the several hundred troops under his command accomplish through slaughter alone?
Moreover, monsters were also a resource. Monsters could increase the strength of a lord's troops, making them resources in their own right.
Slaughter was instead the most wasteful and lowest-level method, especially when high-level troops slaughtered low-level monsters. That was simply an enormous waste.
The key was how to obtain resources efficiently. In a normal, undeveloped Dimensional World, there would be vast quantities of minerals and Wood.
Even rare metals were not out of the question.
All of those were resources. Who would mine them? Who would excavate them? Could he really make his troops mine ore and chop down trees? Setting aside whether they even knew how—
Even if they did, how much could this small number of people accomplish? How much could they earn each day?
Slaughter was the lowest-level method.
Of course, if costs were ignored, then this method was indeed the most effective. The premise was that no cost was spared, such as in certain worlds completely devoid of resources.
For such places, slaughter was the most effective method.
"What if I want to extract the resources of that world? Do you have any ideas?" Su Ye looked at his five generals.
Silence!
Complete silence!
Deafening silence!
Su Ye rubbed his brow. As expected, he had been thinking too much. Lilith and the others were fine when it came to fighting, but matters like this were truly too difficult for them.
"Fine. I'll think of a solution myself. You can go play." Su Ye waved his hand, lay down on the ground, and stared blankly at the azure sky.
